I personally think Staley is going for notorious status in the NFL. No other reason to coach like that. I think dude wants to win and has always thought NFL coaches to be to conservative. So he gets risky, and as of right now more often then not it has paid off. I wouldn't expect him to "learn any lessons".
Whenever he has been questioned about it he has always stayed consistent with his answers. The LA Chargers will be aggressive.
Yes, hoping and praying that Spanos' fire a HC after only 3 years is futile. Staley will get his chance. The OC and the DC will be gone before Staley. The 4th and 2 against Cleveland was a bad decision... but the matchup (MW v. the rookie) was a good one. A little bit better pass (more touch and more air under it) would have iced the game. When we get healthier (KA, JB, JC) and execute better (LB's playing their assignments) we'll be hard to stop... and being aggressive will make us scary again.

It would be a publicly obvious error to not support Herbert with the right coaching staff in his prime. But I’m not saying that the Spanos family couldn’t do something that obviously stupid.

By year's end he'll be 20-14. Don't hold your breathe...

Maybe putting up this defense against like the worst O in the league? You mean just because the front office went all in on paying for defensive players the defense shouldn’t suck?

Maybe a bit of devils advocate here.
I didn't see any egregiously poor HC or game management decisions tonight. D was pretty damned good after a few early mishaps. By mishaps, I mean that dumpster fire JC Jackson, but I digress...
Maybe one, in that I was screaming at the TV when we didn't take a time out after the big 3rd down sack with about 2:35 left in regulation. But it seemed to work out in retrospect. Because below.
What I did see is a continuation of an offensive design shitshow. Our offensive scheme is hot garbage. Is this because we're missing key OL? KA? Is it Staley? Lombardi? Herbie's busted ribs?
I'm strongly thinking Lombardi. But ultimately Staley is on top. In any event, we should have way more available to us than 51 passes per game within 3 yards of the LOS. It's unwatchable.

Yeah it’s so ugly. I think Herbert is bothered by his injury. He doesn’t look like the same guy as last season. 50% as dynamic as he was. It’s unsustainable. Lombardi is ruinin the golden god. Sean Payton was at the game tonight. Hire him. Bring in Vic Fangio as DC, even if you don’t hire Payton. Same system but he does it better than Staley by a mile. Promote Shane Day. It literally can’t be worse. This game was unwatchable.

What happened to Guyton? Is he even on the team anymore? Lots of not PI calls vs denver too. They got away with more than they should have.

Does everyone know we won ? That offense was trash. Looked to me like Denver took the top off the field and Justin was told don't go deep unless you are 100% sure. Our long sustained drives were great until Denver adjusted and our offensive coaching staff was just trying to hold shit together with our back up center and a couple of rookies on the O-line.
The coaching and lack of adjustments made us super conservative. That and the tip drill pick made our O even more conservative.
That Denver D is really good. We got a Hugely important Division win without some of our best players on the field.
I say on to Seattle. A team we should handle but has a way of winning when they shouldn't.
"Good day sir!"
Addendum: I give Staley props for benching J. C.,
It had to be done and the D improved immediately after. I hope he can get his head right because we need Him to be great.
" I said, good day sir"
