Herbert was not good last night How is that ? I disagree. He had zero turnovers. That is playoff winning formula. His counterpart had 4 INT's. It wasn't Herbert. Unless we just want to angry blame everything that moves. I was measuring him based on past performance most dealing with his accuracy and reads. It looked to me he was off. thus my comment. Not saying he was bad, more like he was not as good as we have seen him. PO games are tough. They are faster. So, this being his first go could have played into that.

Herbert missed a wide open Keenan Allen in the end zone, doinked another pass off the helmet of a defender that would have been a TD, had several other passes batted down at the line and just didn’t do enough as a leader and wannabe superstar QB to hold a 27-0 lead.

As to the deflected passes, and the sailed passes: I have had many infielders over the years with whom I had to have this conversation: "It is very cool that you have that sidearm throw. But I need to see you practice overhand throws, too. Because while being able to drop the arm down into that lower slot is a valuable skill, I need you to remember how to throw tall, too." Herbert, at 6'6", needs to throw over the top as his staple, and only drop it down as needed.

QBs coach should have solved that long ago. And now he's fired.

Another cringeworthy Spanos stat: Only 1 Head Coach hired during those decades had another NFL Head Coaching job after their stint with the Chargers. Talk about a dead end street….

There was speculation that he changed his throwing motion due to the rib injury. Their defensive line is 7 feet tall, had 70 tip balls, and we are wondering why Herbert switched to some sidearm throws ? Really ? I mean really really ? THAT'S the mystery here ??

If we hit def. lineman in the stomach they will start lowering their arms.

If we hit def. lineman in the stomach they will start lowering their arms. 6 inches lower would do it

Well, he did hit at least one of those guys square in the face, so . . .. . . . .

Staley said some right things at his presser. I don't trust him, but he said the right things. I liked, paraphrasing mildly:
"Our running game sucks complete ass. So I have to find an OC that can run a balanced offense."
You need to strip the RB depth chart and bring in drafts and free agents. That's where you start. But I say that every single freakin year.
What is so freakin hard about 1 Ekeler. 1A Vet free agent. 2 Draft pick. 3 Kelley.
There, I just named 4 to start with. Geez.
