This illustrates the fundamental differences in our perspectives.....and it continues to perplex me as to why you do not see these differences clearly. I come from a management side in ice hockey, so I look at things through that prism. The bottom line is sold seats, then breakdowns about who is buying those seats. Yes, every club would love to have their jerseys in the seats all across the rinks, such as we enjoy with Montreal Canadiens, or what is found in NFL with Dallas Cowboys. Having such wide demand and recognition throughout the world improves club valuation greatly, and is clearly sought out in many ways. You guys say it every year at draft time.....'is that guy really a Charger style of pick with his questionable character history'....... Chargers trying to build and protect their brand. *On a side note, I wasn't "defending" anything, merely giving a different perspective. If 50+% of those jerseys are from other clubs, then people are going to recognize that the demand for Chargers football is low in LA.... probably hurting your brand and ability to sell season tickets. If I can buy single-game tickets on the secondary market, why spend on season tickets? The optics are not good if your home-crowd is not a home-crowd. If I'm out of the Southern California area... and looking for a team's fan-base to join... hopping on the bandwagon of a team that appears to have no bandwagon (despite having the market and the players) is not alluring. I don't know the solution. But selling tickets, for the sake of selling tickets, doesn't seem to be working. The seats you sell are shared by each NFL team anyways. Same goes for the jerseys you sell. The only "individual profit" comes from selling luxury boxes IIRC. Does anyone know what Chargers luxury box sales are like? The Empire's coffers would be overflowing if we could get Herbert to start dating Taylor Swift. Just a thought folks. A thought for all of you, not my own revenue increases ....................................

As soon as the Chiefs go down it’s bye bye Travis. As for luxury boxes, I doubt the Chargers are doing well judging from my emails asking me to rent one. I don’t think they even keep that revenue for themselves as the majority has to go back to Kroenke

Motivation to buy season seats will vary..... from just assurance to having a seat, to having the particular seat you want, to the extras offered to STH's..... I agree about the optics, and the other issues that were mentioned by Moe I believe. Having many other jerseys in your rink is not ideal, but better than being empty. You third line of thought has an easy answer......WINNING! Winning creates demand......

Be fair......a big part is simply location (SF to LA), as well as the 49er's have a significant brand found across the entire spectrum. (Those Montana/Rice/etc winning years)

JC Jackson traded !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That will free up some cap space. Also exchanged late-round picks... seems they just wanted him off the books. Paging Bryce Callahan... line 3.

Also, makes cap room to re-sign Michael Davis... if they so choose.

Freak Lesson Time: New England has to take on his huge contract, we get Cap relief, so we get small return on trade.
GM's trade contracts, not players.
