I would definitely trade pick 5 for picks 11 & 23. With this trade I would take Bowers and JPJ, but I expect Harbaugh will go OT at pick 11. Nabers @5 How big of a drop off in talent at WR if they do the trade down and take a WR at 11th? Then take a CB or OT at 23rd.....

All of these mocks predicting a trade down with Minnesota has me wondering what you guys want. Arizona takes MHJ....so he is off the board, Chargers on the clock. Do you guys want to hear 'We have a trade' ? I would definitely trade pick 5 for picks 11 & 23. With this trade I would take Bowers and JPJ, but I expect Harbaugh will go OT at pick 11. I would only approve the trade back if Bowers is there at 11. They would miss the top 3 WRs so he's the guy that would have to be available and I doubt he would be. So stick and pick for me. And it's Nabers or Odunze. I'd go Nabers because how long have we been screaming for an explosive guy?

Hortiz says he has final say in the draft. Harbaugh has said same. Collaboration with Hortiz making the call. The trade down scenario is not a given. The question remains, how much does Hortiz & his collaborators value the top non-QB available when LAC is on the clock? Trade down is not a given unless they receive an outrageous offer. I lean toward MHJ/ Nabers or outrageously generous trade down offer.

My preference has always been MHJ as the best player in this draft, but early on I thought there was ZERO chance he might fall to us at pick five. Now I think there's a small chance he might! (I'm still thinking realistically he goes third or fourth, though.) So if MHJ is there, it's a no brainer for me. If he's gone I strongly prefer a good trade down such as the two first rounders from MIN. If we stick and pick I prefer Nabers over Odunze and I would even welcome Bowers (but he has become more of a target after the trade down scenario than at five). Just to add to the discussion, if we did trade to 11 and 23 I think we take Quinton Mitchell (the CB from Toledo) at 11 and JPJ (the Center from Oregon) at 23.

REACT AS MY RANKINGS ON HIM HAVE NEVER BEEN WRONG !! REACT REACT REACT !!!

That's close to D.K. Metcalf size/speed.
I bet they asked how he likes blocking 20-30 times in about 20 minutes

I will be pissed off too. If WR is Hortiz's highest priority, stay at 5 and take your choice. Picking the fourth WR at pick 11 is such a rookie Telesco move. There are so many other value picks at 11.

Day one might not be what was hoped for, day two a bit better, and by day three the strategy is apparent......then of course it takes a year or three to even know who was a great pick and who wasn't.

I am on record as being against making a trade down with the Vikings for 11 and 23 cause do expect to that Bowers and all the top WR's will be gone. If does happen then I expect we would grab a RT at 11 (Fuaga/Lathan) then CB at 23 (DeJean)

Obviously, but its also pretty easy to tell if we did well based on the info and analysis of the day. Draft grades happen for a reason... I get what your saying but we've all been down this road before, Hortiz NEEDS to be different and I think he will be.
