I am not debating a topic, or am I arguing with you. We are simply exchanging viewpoints.....nothing more. If one was to have access to club spending for every club, in totality, my guess is there would be outliers at the top and bottom, but the vast majority would be bunched in the middle. Do the clubs that spend more win more? I have no idea as to what the answer is on that, but my guess is no. I have to assume you believe Spanos would be one of the outliers at the bottom of annual spending. Again, I have no idea, but my guess is they are in the middle, but who knows. It would be very interesting to know the spread, from spending most to spending least. Somehow I suspect it is not as far apart as one might think. We don't know what the fancy teams do. We got our head coach for a ham sammich and some warm beer. We overpaid.

He inherited a culture and offense of crap. Staley ? Not so much. No, but Staley inherited a 'frugal' owner.....and bad GM.....and bad scouting......and and and Change "bad" with "average" and you are correct. Staley also inherited a team with enough talent to win a playoff game. Payton not so much.
