Someone will need to notify BB. They look to be changing to a 4-3 and have Adam Butler (undrafted), David Parry (5th round, waived multiple times), Mike Pennel (undrafted 330 lb fatty), and 7th round Lawrence Guy (remember him) as their DT's. Maybe they didn't get the memo... Not only that, but it appears they wasted their 2018 first round pick on an outdated LT. Silly Billy! Oh he knows. They crash the middle with LBs. just goes back to BB outscheming and outcoaching everybody else My point exactly! Multiple ways to provide pressure up the middle. Don't necessarily need a 1st round DT to get that pressure. Could already have the talent on the roster (Ingram, Bosa, Nwosu, Perryman) to bring the heat in 3 and 4-man fronts. IMO, the biggest challenge we will have this coming season is staying strong against the run while we go to 3-man fronts during nickle and dime situations. Let's see how effective we are in 3rd and 5 situations next year against good/balanced offenses.

Ball control offense and a great run D still wins a lot of games in the NFL. Out scoring the other team wins them all....... * plenty of ways to win games, but many more to lose them.

OL has been getting more attention in the Anthony Lynn era. 2017 FAs: Okung, Schofield. Draft: Lamp, Feensy, Tevi UDFAs: Deboer, Zandi 2018 FA: Pouncey Draft: Quisenberry UDFAs: Crabtree, Durant, Golditch, Jackson, Scott 2019 Draft: Pipkins UDFAs: Brown, Camper, Martin, Volson Currently 16 OL in camp. The Win total has been going up under AL. To continue to improve, we need better OL play. Pretty sure all concerned are aware of that. Rock & roll gentlemen. Getting more attention just means it is recognized as a weak aspect. Bringing in more UDFA's is the 'uncommitted' plan. Using your 1st rd pick is a committed GM. OL needs to improve, no doubt, but this defence might be so good that all the offence needs is to be somewhere in the top half.

The 2000 Ravens 10.3 ppg avg D cruised to a Lombardi with the 14th best scoring offense. I don't think we are quite at that level, we're a much better offense. Could be that the 2019 LAC offense will benefit significantly from our defensive takeaways. We appear to be elite as a DB group. ps: In Lynn's 1st year we lead the NFL in fewest sacks allowed. Not sure why we took more sacks yr 2. Not a good look for AL, Whis, Meyer or Pouncey but it should be correctable...unless releasing Pulley, Wiggins & Barksdale is the problem.

Bolts might be on a similar track as those 2000 Ravens. I agree, Bolts have a better offence, yet we have seen Rivers and company go cold as it can get, so losing a defensive battle 7-3 isn't out of the realm of possibility. The offence will see an increase in possessions I believe, what they do with them is anybody's guess. Releasing Pulley, Wiggins & Barksdale was a needed move.....you are not winning squat with them playing. Pipkins was a shrewd pick, just watch.....

Only if the shooting them option was off the table.

So now the biggest challenge is stopping the run with 3 man front? Yet you didn’t want them to draft a DT early? It's not fluid at all. You can draft a good run-stopping DT without having to spend a 1st rounder. Let's say they would have drafted Daylon Mack in the 3rd round. You put him at NT in a 3-man front. You put Jones/Mebane/Square at RE and Bosa at LE. Drop Ingram and Nwosu into the Mike and Will spots. Then you have 6 DB's to fill out your dime. Now you're strong against the run with a real NT that'll eat two OL. Two LB's to take on the B gap. Or stunt LB's/DE's which presses the outside but also brings pressure up the middle. New England did it against us all game long. Plus you can slide the NT over to 1-tech, RDE to 3-tech, Bosa to 5-tech, Ingram to 7-tech, and you're back into your 4-3 base set. Without ever subbing in additional players during a hurry-up set from the offense. Just watch NE next year... they'll be switching endlessly back and forth between 3-4 and 4-3 next year... because they'll have the personnel to do it. We won't. And they'll have a bunch of late-round/UDFA players fill those DL spots. Did the Patriots go draft a high round 3-tech...? No. They brought in Michael Bennett to play Ingram's spot. And brought in Collins to play Nwosu's spot. Watch for Collins and Wise to be stunting and/or Bennett/Van Noy to be stunting on the other side. And just when you start looking for those stunts, they'll bring Hightower up the middle from the MIKE position. If you thought last year's game was a bloodbath, wait until this year's... Only 1 first-rounder among the front 7... and he's a LB. LOL! I lied! Noticed that the Patriots re-signed Danny Shelton three hours ago. There's your 1st round DT... or should I say NT. You know, the position all these "modern day" defenses don't need/want any more...

Blood bath, I tell you, blood bath!
And they added WR N'Keal Harry in the 1st round. CB Joujuan Williams in the 2nd round. Passing league...? And the 3rd round is my favorite... Edge Chase Winovich, RB Damian Harris, OT (yes, OT) Yodny Cajuste... as a back-up! Passing league...?
Wow! I'd be watching the Patriots' waiver wire this TC...
