They also got a good closeup look and film on him this summer during the two joint practices and preseason game. Good shot at a vet filler inner at Guard. 4 years with Lombardi.

They also got a good closeup look and film on him this summer during the two joint practices and preseason game. Good shot at a vet filler inner at Guard. 4 years with Lombardi. Did some digging on senio, he was a LT for his junior/senior years in college. His freshman year he was a DT and his sophmore year he started at LG but finished the year at LT. He’s played almost is entire NFL career at LG but he has started 10 NFL games at LT for injured teammates 8 of those games came under smith/lombardi while in new orleans the other two happened in houston. so this guy is kind of like schofield but maybe better because he he can play LG and LT in a pinch, schofield plays RG/RT both were drafted in 2012 with schofield being a 3rd rounder and kelemete being a 5th rounder. Both also have a lot of starting experience and both had familiarity either with the team or a member of the coaching staff. both kelemete and schofield will prove to be important signings this season. Both of these men are also on par with aboushi in terms of overall skill level but kelemete played in the new orleans style offense for 4 years before moving on to houston where he finally got his big payday 6 years into his career. So kelemete should not take long to absorb the playbook as he’s already played in this type of offense before!

So the line should remain pretty much the same minus aboushi and no idea if bulaga is slated to return or if he’s basically done for the year, the team hasn’t said much about his situation.
We now have a back up left guard that can fill in at left tackle in a pinch, kelemete
We have a starting left guard that can fill in at both tackle spots, fieler
We have a rookie back up left guard that can fill in at both tackle spots, jaimes
We have a back up right guard that is starting at right guard but can also fill in at right tackle, schofield
We have a back up center than can fill in at both guard spots, quessenberry
And we have a back up swing tackle that is starting at right tackle
So do we still need pipkins on the roster? If bulaga comes back they HAVE to make a decision on pipkins and no one else. Have you guys noticed how bad pipkins has played on field goals and extra points? Calais Campbell blocked one and almost got a second against indy, I’ll bet he’ll be lining up over pipkins come sunday morn.

I just read that bulaga had ‘muscle core’ surgery yesterday, WTF? www.profootballrumors.com/2021/10/chargers-bryan-bulaga-undergoes-surgery

^^^does this mean he’s done, what is muscle core? Is that like a hernia surgery? web MD says involves suturing muscles to the pelvic bone! Oh man, that sounds bad i think this is the surgery that christian darrisaw had a couple months before the NFL draft and he still hasn’t played for the Vikings, and he’s 22 years old

At his age? Christian darrisaw had this done in february and he’s still not playing and he’s a 22 year old kid. Why am I have pouncey flashbacks? Too pessimistic? Do you think he’ll be back?

Why am I have pouncey flashbacks? Too pessimistic? Do you think he’ll be back? Probably not in regard to it making a difference. This is probably season (career?) ending surgery, so perhaps they were trying to avoid it in the hopes he could come back. This is all too similar to Pouncey with the differences being that Bulaga hadn’t suffered the body-area injury prior to signing and Pouncey at least had Pro Bowl season before waving bye-bye to game day activity.

I’ve taken a lot of heat on here for being critical of bulaga, I even used to call him baluga which I stopped because it’s just mean. But my issue was never the person, my issue has always been that it was a bad signing, too much money without protection for the team. Bryan is walking away with 22 million in two years and for 8 games worth of football spread over 17 games? He made almost 700k for every quarter he played! By comparison norton made 660k all of last year and will make a out the same this year. The man had a bad injury history with major injuries, sign him for a year and if that’s not acceptable let someone else throw a 3 year deal at him. He’s scheduled to make 14 million next year but at this point it’s pretty clear he won’t make it to the roster bonus in march.

Darrisaw played his first snaps last week. But was limited since he's not in playing shape quite yet. So, that's about 2 months.
