I really expect Okung back by the time the season begins. If I'm right there's no need to panic. With Okung at LT we're good to go. If someone releases a decent RT when the cuts start we could be better off than last year. Let's just sit tight and see what happens. My glasses are rose colored for this situation. The news reports seem to show the Bolts as not worried about Okung, which you would expect, but that is a serious injury/ailment he has going on. I am not as confident as you are, and expect Okung's unavailability to linger into the regular season games. Any camp cuts would take some time to get up to speed with the offence, until they did, it would be quite challenging. Listened to the Ringer NFL pod today. Basically, they said they were hearing what I'm saying. They haven't made a move yet only because they are waiting for things to shake out with other teams. It wasn't because of confidence in Okung. On the positive side, people were really impressed with Lamp.

I would expect he’d need some time to get up to speed. If they tell him he can’t start by the end of the month we are in deep shit.

One might infer you don't have a great deal of faith in Trent Scott and Sam Tevi?

You know what drives me to get a little freaky ? Tevi at LT. I hate when we start this stuff. If Tevi was B minus minus at RT, then just leave him the hell over there. He was solid enough to start over there, leave him be. If LT is the problem, then practice and fix the LT. Not MOVE our RT to it. Yes, I'm aware LT is more important, no I don't care. We have multiple players for a reason. Use them to fix the spot. Don't create a second unknown at RT, and we have a first unknown at LT. Oh, that crap really makes me feel like they took a cheese grader to my ass. (which isn't as bad as you might think BTW)

I believe that he’s only getting practice reps there now in order to cover for potential injury scenarios.

Not to mention the fact that going into last season, Tevi was supposed to sit and learn behind Barksdale and Okung. Barksdale went mental and Tevi was thrown in early based on his draft position and college experience. Clearly, the coaches believe that he has the tools and composition to be an NFL start. It's astounding that none of the savvy football minds in here believe that he could actually develop over the off season and be a better stronger player at this point in time.

My level of savvy is debatable. But, I expect Tevi to be a better RT in 2019. He was a decent young prospect with limited experience. 2018 definitely raised his level of experience. He can better connect the dots and apply his techniques now.

He got a lot of reps last year @rt. He, being new, should absolutely be better this year @rt.
Here's an idea: Leave him @rt.
If I see @lt, I will chew my remote control to pieces.

I can tell you pre-game, that Pouncey has absolutely already connected the dots.

What would you expect him to say - "some of my teammates are pretty bad"?

What would you expect him to say - "some of my teammates are pretty bad"? It is not that I think they are 'bad', I just see reserve level talent. Can you get by a game or two, with only one playing starter, certainly. Going into a season with both OT positions manned by reserve talent is going to be really challenging.

I stopped reading when you said Lamp was out of the NFL forever. So about 2 years now.
