Although all I have done is read about the second half, but Stick’s performance may have been enough to allow him to sneak through to the practice squad. It may have been enough to not even want him there.

Now that Jones has shown that he is light years ahead of Stick, who will be the first one in with the “since Stick stinks we should only carry two QB’s on our 53 man roster”?

We could cut Jones and send Stick to the PS. We have Rivers, who is Iron Man. Then we have Taylor. They both go down and its not going to matter anyway. At that point you can call Jones back from Home Depot and play him. Would open a roster spot.

I told my wife last night, that Stick was probably told beforehand to stink it up last night, so they could move him to the PS.

Adderley with an interception. Nice. Adarius Pickett UDFA from UCLA Safety had a INT last night. Did you know he led the COUNTRY in college last year for tackles by a DB ?? Crazy. . Led the team with 123 tackles [15th on the school single-season list], including 77 unassisted stops ... Registered game-high tackle honors in nine contests ... Became the first Bruin defensive back since Dennis Keyes in 2007 to record a 100-tackle season ... Produced six double-digit tackle efforts during the season (15-Cincinnati, 12-Oklahoma, 13-Fresno State, 16-Washington, 11-Oregon, 12-Arizona State) ... Established a new career-high with his 16 stops versus Washington He looked good. Almost had 3 INT's. He will see plenty of playing time by week 4. What sucks is thinking how good that back field would be with both him and James. We'll just have to wait

It may have been enough to not even want him there. Stick's performances in PS Games 1 and 3 warrant it. He's a rookie from NDSU who was playing with soon-to-be-jobless personnel surrounding him last night.

The only decision left is does the projections on Stick overcome the production from Jones this preseason. If you like Stick's long term potential, you keep him. If you like Jones' growth and efforts, you keep him and try to slip Stick to the Practice Squad. If he gets poached, oh well. If either is playing, you are not likely winning......

I have to say that from the time I arrived at training camp and saw that Jones had changed his body from a pudgy and puffed-up build to a fairly lean physique, it’s obvious that he put in a lot of work over the past year. Add in his much calmer presence in the pocket, progressing through reads and much sharper delivery, I find myself in a surprising position where I believe that he earned a roster spot. I thought that AL was blowing smoke about Cardale when he talked to the media the past couple of months, but I was wrong. From the moment that they drafted Stick after giving Taylor a hefty $$$ upfront deal, I believe that the brass had reserved a 3rd QB slot on the active roster, and Cardale won the competition.

Trade Junes for an OT and cut Stick, sign him to ps. That would make a lot of sense. But because it would, I’m not terribly optimistic.

My thoughts on the process..... Drafting Stick was done because the club felt the need. That certainly sent a very loud message to Jones. Jones, since the drafting of Stick, has put in the effort he should have been putting in since the day he was drafted. The results of preseason has shown serious growth from Jones. Jones now appears to be a reasonable reserve QB, but that is the problem. Jones will likely never see playing time, as Taylor is far better. So what does the club do with QB4 and QB3 ? Keep Jones, cut Stick, and regret using that 5th rd pick on a QB.

His transformation wasn’t a three month deal after Stick was drafted, it was him putting in the work for twelve months. My guess is keep Jones, sign Stick to the practice squad, and perhaps trade Jones for a low-round pick when injuries occur around the NFL before the trade deadline.

If the bold above is true, the disconnect between TT and Coaching staff must be crazy. Why in the world would they use a pick on a QB if there simply was no perceived need? I doubt there is much trade value in Jones, but who knows......be nice to get a 5th, eh.

I join all of you in the shock of what I write: I'm with you. I think Jones won camp and preseason over Stick. Now, what the hell do we do ? We used a draft pick on Stickie this Spring. That bothers GM's to no end. TT will fight for him because of that. I join the Goalie and you guys. They have to try and slip him into the PS, and just hope he don't get poached. Love you guys that want an OT for Cardale. You might get a HS prospect at OT.
