I trust Rivers' abilities to recognize the called play is facing the perfect defence, and audible out of the play called. That said, audible or not, it doesn't matter if the players on the field are not fulfilling the expectations of the play being run. This many reserve players playing is simply not a winning equation.......hell, the entire starting OL is made up of sub par players. I understand the organization has a 'we can do this' face, but they recognize the realities, catching lightening in a bottle is not happening, eh....... They needed 1 yard. you don't throw the ball 7 times to get it. PR screwed up if he did what I think he did. Trying to carry the team himself.To your point the whole team played poorly. Unable to run against a team ranked near the bottom in run D. Dropped passes. Giving up 14 points in the first half to a team that averaged that per game. The Bolts played uninspired, undisciplined, sloppy football. I think they were thinking this was going to be another Miami cake walk. The bold is my biggest issue with Rivers, but it is also a trait that comes with most every HOF player I know (from NHL). The great ones always try to will the lesser players to greater heights than they can achieve on their own. Bolts simply have too many lesser players playing too many minutes.

Fire every single one of them and start over in San Antonio or wherever. This team does nothing in so cal ever, you can tell when the opposing fans make up 75% of the crowd. True also of the rams. |

There are a lot of Chargers issues that I am not happy about but I can't imagine that a knee-jerk reaction will help anything. Play 2019 season to the bloody end, take a fishing vacation, then make some decisions.
