No strong feeling pro or con. He wasn't magic at OC but there were obvious issues.

Meh. As long as we have a shit line combined with an immobile QB we could have Chuck Knoll, Belicheat, Sean Payton and Norval comprising the coaching staff and it wouldn’t matter. It’s an untenable combination. Fix the line front office you bunch of incompetent jabronis.
Well maybe not with Belicheat, but he’s seems to have run out of sneaky places to put his cameras.

Hard to say from the stands if SS is a god OC. He had one really good game vs GB. ( I credit him with keeping GB out of sync). Though granted in games after, it could of been him, PR, the rest of team or any combination thereof after where the team looked like crap. Mostly, I think now it's been the players across the board. the OC in Whiz was scapegoated IMO.

Scapegoated maybe... But I also don't hear about Whiz interviewing for any jobs.

If Steichen is staying will that mean PR is staying? Wade-Philips reunion? Here's my take on why they decided to keep Steichen: 1. Steichen is beyond thankful for the job, so he's not going to butt heads with Lynn. 2. IF they bring Rivers back, he (Rivers) doesn't need to learn a completely new offense. 3. Moving the ball (which Steichen seemed to be capable of orchestrating) was not the problem with the offense. Turnovers (especially in the Redzone) killed us. As for a Wade Philips reunion, management better move fast. Every team he's gone too becomes a strong D. Bolts are already a strong D. He'd make them elite.

Firing Whiz was the least amount of collateral damage at that point.
