I just can't fathom this happening... Are we talking about teams playing in an empty stadium or nixing the NFL altogether? That's an expensive stadium to leave empty.

Just think how much cheaper it will be to build facilities for games if there are no fans attending.......even San Diego might afford to build one.

Overkill IMO.
All we need to do is protect the most vulnerable. figure that out, then you can deal with large crowd issues.

It will come down to the coaches, players, and staff. The risk of getting sick vs getting paid.
I can easily see games played in empty stadiums. It keeps the TV $$ flowing...

EMPTY STADIUM ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Your Emperor has even survived the Black Plague. I got this.
MY new stadium WILL be open. Full ticket prices in effect. If you get sick/die, there are NO REFUNDS.
Thank you, enjoy the game !

The cool thing about it is the Chargers are used to not having a home crowd so won't matter as much. Can't be good for the game overall though...

Chargers would be hugely benefitted by playing in empty stadiums. Issue with NFL is that players are in physical contact every single play. Baseball much less so.

Having the stadium empty will mean that the Chargers can finally hear their signal calls on offense when at home.
Honestly as long as it's on TV it would not effect me if they don't allow fans at games.

I don’t see any way crowds are allowed next season. Maybe in some backwards red states, but the problem is places like Cali and NY would never allow it and it would get squashed through the league. The season should go on as scheduled, the league is rich enough to test all involved before games, and teams throughout the week.
Really though, the real winners are the fans that watch on TV who are gonna get to experience the dulcet tones of Dan Dierdorf that much clearer.

You guys are slowly losing your civil liberties and it should be terrifying.

I'm not trying to start a political argument, I think some of these states are taking this virus response to far.

I was in the Air Force for 8 years, now I’m working as a contractor out here. We’re pretty much following CDC guidelines for gatherings, social distancing, etc. I’d imagine that an entity as large as the NFL that spans the entire US will do the same.
