One question I have is how a FB fits into the new scheme. Do they keep Nabers for ST and because of the Herbert relationship?

Our run game really worries me... We need Eckler to perform. Bolts need the OL to perform.....regardless of which RB is in the game. Block well, run well......

isn't there block poor run for 11 yards? askingforafriend We don't have LT anymore sadly... True. We were privileged to have the great, one of a kind, HOF RB. That doesn't mean that Ekeler isn't very good or that our RB group can't produce respectable numbers. The group talent level is at least average and blocking, coaching and playcalling should be upper tier. In addition to OL talent, Staley's O staff are a whole 'nuther level of planning. I'd love to have another HOF RB but I'm not holding my breath. We need to produce with what we have.

Chargers QB coach said there are 5 tools to being a good QB, Herbert has all 5, and how rare it is for a young QB to have all 5. Said he's one of the best throwers he's been around.
I loved Herbert when I watched him win the Rose Bowl, running for multiple touchdowns.
There is a real intangible about this guy. That special winning drive inside him. I almost think someone pissed him off. Plays with a chip. My only guess is he went 6th in the draft and thought "I'll show all of you."
Just love having him on our team. Keep the drive alive inside. Keep on keeping our team's drives alive on the field.
He's a drive maker. He's coming downfield and does not believe you can stop him. From rookie game 1 on............

Staley believes, is why while it’s exciting what Herbert is now, what’s way more interesting is how much better he can become.
“He’s got a lot of pride,” Staley said. “He doesn’t like it when he doesn’t know everything. He wants to know everything and have that full command and that full rhythm that the premium quarterbacks have. What was exciting for me to see was to see him struggle a little bit early. And then really have to fight to earn that command. And what he did from there? He really studied, he was on top of the scripts. …
“That’s a process that he really had to work hard at it this spring. It didn’t come to him right away, Albert. It didn’t. He had to really work it. And then these last two weeks, there’s been this explosion, in terms of his command in the operation, because he had to work on it. And there’s still more work to be done because in training camp, when it’s live, full-speed, live bullets, lot going on, then we’re going to learn even more.”
