Cut Herbert some slack, the shortcomings of this team are not on him alone.
Some drops/tips turned into catches and a player choosing to zig instead of zag, and that s stat line and the score would be different. Herbo certainly made some mistakes but we weren't to far off a close win. One more possession and we win that game. Belichick is just to good of a coach to make costly mistakes against.
I still believe in the chosen one.

Chargers’ Justin Herbert sees football as his vacation Herbert’s lack of enthusiasm for a five-week break explains how he broke several records his first two NFL seasonsBy Gilbert Manzano COSTA MESA — Justin Herbert’s idea of a vacation is throwing to teammates, studying film, lifting weights and many other football-related activities. But the fun is on hold because Herbert has the “burden” of taking five weeks off after the Chargers ended their mandatory minicamp and offseason program. “I’m kind of on vacation right now,” Herbert said Wednesday. “I think that if you’re taking a vacation, you’re trying to get away from something. I always look forward to coming to this place and working and doing all of these fun things.” Herbert’s lack of enthusiasm for a summer break before training camp in late July was a reminder of how he broke several records in his first two NFL seasons and quickly established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Perhaps some time off will benefit the well-prepared Herbert in light of the high expectations for his third season. He’s considered a preseason contender for MVP and the Chargers are generating plenty of hype as Super Bowl contenders after a busy offseason. But Herbert excels at blocking the outside noise, another explanation for his fast NFL start. He’ll attempt to enjoy his time away from teammates, but he craves being around football. “I think the great thing about football, for me, is I need football,” Herbert said. “I love waking up and going to work and lifting, running, throwing and watching film. I think too much off time can kind of be a burden to me sometimes, so I always look forward to having stuff to do, whether that’s watching film or us throwing or being out here for OTAs. I think that’s kind of what I look forward to.” Herbert is looking forward to returning to his friends and family in Eugene, Oregon, but that’s not going to stop him from preparing for the 2022 season. He already has local receivers ready for throwing sessions, including his brother, and his computer will be used often for film study. www.dailynews.com/sports/nfl/los-angeles-chargers/

Herbert’s young and doesn’t have kids. Going to OTA’s and being around the facility is like summer camp for him right now. Playing the game he loves. He golfs plenty and we know he grills so he has other interests. I’d rather have him this way than a guy who has little appetite for the game
