This is an interesting observation from Daniel Popper regarding today’s practice outside the big news that Chargers fans are used to (every year it seems). C Mike Pouncey, WR Mike Williams, TE Virgil Green and DE Joe Gaziano did not suit up. CB Chris Harris and LB Denzel Perryman both suited up but did not get a single rep. Harris has been dealing with a lower-leg injury, so I chalk that up to Lynn being cautious.
With Perryman, I’m not so sure. We will talk to Lynn on Monday morning, so I will have more then. But there is a chance Perryman is out of the rotation now that rookie Kenneth Murray is fully healthy. Murray has been playing middle linebacker with the first team. Perryman might be a surprise-cut candidate.
And here’s another nugget with Freaky likely to enjoy the last sentence. Offensive play of the day: Taylor hit Justin Jackson for a 50-yard completion down the right sideline. Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley brought a blitz, and Taylor avoided the rush by rolling out to his right. Jackson was one-on-one with Melvin Ingram, and Taylor delivered a perfect ball to Jackson in stride. Jenkins chased him down from his free-safety spot to prevent the TD. But Joshua Kelley punched it in two plays later on a handoff.theathletic.com/2032806/2020/08/30/chargers-training-camp-practice-report-day-10-replacing-derwin-james-again/

Player protests date back to the 1960’s, and the sports have not gone out of business. Like the 1960’s, these are turbulent times in this country and across the globe, but I need to be confident that our nation will emerge intact after weathering the storms.en track meets had been exceptionally good,” Dixon continued in that AP article. “We are a very cosmopolitan and tolerant city, but we are also a Southern city, and there are times when personal reaction is unpredictable. “It seems to me that the players who walked out on us should have rolled with the punch. Almost all of them are educated college men, who must be aware than you cannot change human beings overnight.” Which is why sometimes, you need to force the thought of change with decisive action.``` Sadly, the need for this kind of action hasn’t changed in the decades since. touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2020/08/26/how-the-1964-afl-all-star-game-player-boycott-struck-a-blow-for-civil-rights/There's a huge, I mean HUGE difference between racism in the 60's and what is called racism today. I went out with black friends in the south in 1965 and eating, drinking together wasn't allowed. We were removed by MPs in Leesville, La and my presence with black drinkers in a racially divided bar just outside Ft Eustis, Va made everyone so uncomfortable we just went back to the post.
I've tried reading up on "white privilege" and can't find much that rings true in my experience. I know what the rhetoric is, like Taylor is afraid for his life if he gets a traffic ticket. He should be terrified of lighting. Far more likely to strike him than LEO gunfire. I see the lists of black people shot by LE and a huge majority ran, fought or threatened the officer. Pay attention to "The Talk" dammit and quit shooting everyone. Black on black violence far exceeds, by multiples any other class. It's no wonder LE is on edge when dealing w/ blacks.

The reason that put him over the top. If I saw the glaring need, you know the staff did.

Just hope they can really bring it in 2020. Good luck. New QB not named Rivers!

Tyrod Taylor officially names the starter. No surprise. I think Lynn probably would have liked to have him start some games last season.
