I would think that Hebert and Allen having a record year would honestly open up the run game more than it has, but it hasn't. Not saying the oline is good, but how much of it is the coaching and scheme we all complain about?

Fix the OL and perhaps the investments in RB's to date will prove to have been well worth it. I think a lot of the RB issues go to the OL. I think a lot of the O issues trace to the OL. They don’t have a real number 1 RB, but a good line would make the running game decent to good enough. Dear Bolt Brother, there is no denying our OL issues. Talent, injuries, etc. No doubt. But when you are pulling a Miami Dolphin running back OFF OF THE STREET because they cut him, AND STARTING HIM IN THE GAME AGAINST THEM. You have major major major RB issues. Did I say major ? But at least we have Pope. Right ?

Bosa mic’ed up. It’s pretty damned spectacular! He played well. Our star DE outplayed, while our head coach got outcoached. That's just the reality of it. I care about Bosa's sacks versus his contract, and so far he is living up to what I expect.

This, stunningly, is my thoughts on the matter too. We are so lame at RB group. Get me free agents and drafts. I disagree. He wouldn’t have been active if he wasn’t healthy. It was like the first game of the season for Ek. No one would say a word about him playing that much in game 1. Credit to Ek for being well conditioned That was a horrible hamstring injury he suffered. I was scared for him when it happened. Thank god he was able to come back in that short of time. Well conditioned ?!?!?!?! Ekeler may have some of the best core athleticism I have ever seen. At 3 foot 2 , he's a freak show. He would be a GREAT 3rd down back, and you would lengthen his career here. I'll shock you a little here, I would use him as our number 3 WR. God knows we don't have one now. Wes Welker style. Go get an RB1. Eke WR3, and 3rd down back. Its nothing short of genius. Increase the talent pool for Herbert. Let me show you the math on Ekeler being a RB1, and the coaching over using him: We don't win. Love

But none of that changes the point I made, which was that Ek was perfectly healthy and they didn’t need to rest him. I don’t need your math on the rest. It’s irrelevant

Winning here is irrelevant. He looked good on his first week back. In shape, no hobbling, good to go.

He did look good, very good in fact. Can you imagine the screaming if he had torn his hammy on that last carry...... Yes he was healthy, fully released by medical, but they rode him awfully hard...... no need to report, I already did

I wouldn't be surprised if this coaching staff gets more reckless with Herbert as well.
