I was torn between getting the W and having at least some semblance of a shot at Sewell, but that is all out the window now - and was likely never in the cards of possibility due to Cincy's likelihood of losing through the end of the season. Yes, it feels good for the players to find a way to win, but in another sense it is all the more frustrating: finding a way to win when it no longer matters after watching this team lose in every inconceivable manner (to me) when it did matter. I get it but it’s more important to me to see these young guys get some W’s now and try to get that monkey off their backs. It’s a game of confidence and belief too. Instead of expecting to lose and finding ways to continue doing so would be good for their mindset to change. Sewell isn’t the only OL player available and I get that he’s rated high but he hasn’t played football this year and there are other guys. We have a few different needs and plenty of high picks. Get a coach. That’s my top priority Sewell is certainly highly touted, but in the end, he might not prove to have been the best OL out of his draft class.

It's ok. Don't let the tank for Sewell get to you guys, nor be a priority. It's not worth it. We will land where we land on the draft board. We get 7 rounds and UDFA. We'll be fine. Hey, our team won this week. Sheesh, perk up a little. We actually may love what happens. frozen is eyeing CB's and WR's. Where we are at can allow the reaches for QB, OT, and Edge to happen. We may get cream of the crop WR, CB, etc at our pick slot. I MAY really blow your minds and go BPA for the first time !!!!!!!! Its all good. PS I am counting on TT, QB rookie contract cap space to bail our asses out here. Once you see Free Agency, you can figure on what they will focus on in the draft. Kneel. Believe. I really like that ILB Parsons as well, but CB seems more likely at this point.

It would seem less likely to see Parsons available. A top CB or second-highest OT might be where we are.

I am 'guessing' the Bolts end up drafting 5th, Parsons should go anywhere from 5th to 10th, just depends on team needs at those draft spots. Top CB is most likely, I do not see elevating an OT to the 5th slot that could be had at the 15th. TT would be passing on too great of talent to reach for an OT solution.

Agreed... We could get a whole draft of Sewell type talent and still find a way to mess up somewhere else. I'm more concerned about the HC situation than the draft right now. The next HC will be really important... Every draft pick- no matter how highly touted- carries some risk that they will NOT pan out in the NFL. There's also injuries that derail an athlete's chance for stardom. And I'll even throw in that sometimes UDFAs outshine first round picks further proving the gamble that is the scouting and draft process. So yeah, there's the normal potential for drafts to be graded poorly a few years down the road, but I think you're also referring to the lack of teaching/development a bad coaching staff has on young players- and that's what I think we must remove. The evidence on the field is that Lynn and company have not been good teachers. (With the one exception being JH, who most of us believe is overwhelmingly due to the personal attention and tutelage of Pip Hamilton) Therefore I completely agree that getting a knowledgeable, experienced head coach and staff is priority number one, and then use the draft to get potentially good players and let them compete and develop into upgrades at our current weakest positions.

What did Popper say?

To reinforce Moe’s point: Me and Joey on the same page. Meant a lot to the rook. If you watch his press conferences he is very dry and measured. If you see some of the footage during and just after yesterday’s game he is much more animated and exuberant. Was a big one for Herbert yesterday. Herbert made 2 incredible throws yesterday. The first was the Keenan td which Popper says he’s watched “100 times”. It’s a thing of beauty. The 2nd was the throw to Ty Johnson. Game winning throw right on the money. Kid has game. Just needs belief. Yesterday was the beginning of that.

My childhood girlfriend was super competitive and loved her Falcons as much as I loved my chargers. I remember the year Matty it drafted, how devestated she was when Vick beat dogs, etc.
I KNOW she hates the chargers now cause of me. So I know she really wanted to beat our assss knowing I was probably watching somewhere in the world. This win, for me, screw that draft pic. I needed this win.

Funny how sports cause these strange rivalries that seem childish...... For me, I simply hate everything about Boston Bruins. No big reason, just do.....and I hold it against CJ for coaching there. Childish, eh.
