We can hope that the 6-2, 215 James is a little sturdier than the 5-10, 188 Verrett. It's a fact that James has a larger, more dense frame.I have the impression that James issue has been a cascade of events resulting from a poorly repaired foot injury he suffered in college. That should be over but no guaranties that he can't suffer an unrelated injury. We'll just have to see.

Before you post HOW you know that exactly, we'll just have TB put you on a little 51 minute timeout. In the corner. (Wow, "larger, more dense" he says......................)

yeah, when I say there is no way I mean there is no way. Ingram was damned close, and Super Mel was a shadow of the player on the field that James was largely due to his perpetually injured status in years 1 thru 3. I mean, 12 starts from a top-half of the 1st round draft selection??? Ewwww!!

James will be back......the question is will it last. 🤞 that Derwin is the third in line for Chargers players who could not stay healthy their first three seasons and then hit a five-year stretch of Pro Bowl standard play (in the footsteps of KA and Super Mel). ⚡️ Back in the day jamal williams couldn’t stay healthy for the best part of his first three seasons, nobody remembers that now, they just remember the stud NT that ruled the AFC west for almost a decade. leslie oneal missed most of his first three years... it's happened before and it could happen again and DJ could end up having a HOF career

Higher level organizational thinking. I do apologize.

Higher level organizational thinking. I do apologize. As did Super Mel. On the other hand, KA waited until he signed a big second contract before tearing his ACL in the 2nd quarter of the first game under that contract ... which coincidentally was his first game back after missing the second half of the 2015 season with a lacerated kidney. We’ll see what happens in 2021 for James as it will be a make or break season for him. His salary is a backbreaking $2.17 million in 2021 (cap hit $3.94 million) before it “skyrockets” to $9 million in 2022.

Your best ability is availability.

On second thought, I shouldn’t have used the word “break” in my post. 🤷♂️ Joe just cursed Derwin James. I cursed him by my attendance at the training camp joint practice against the Saints when the screw in his foot from his FSU days broke after an interception near the end of the session. Nobody in the stands realized it at the time and when I found out the next day that he was undergoing surgery and being placed on IR, my reaction was “What the hell?!” 😞 🤷♂️
