Sounds to me like almost EVERYONE on this forum wanted simmons. I went back and read some of the old posts and simmons was the defensive savior that was going to fix gus bradley’s scheme, LOL simmons didn’t make the impact most thought he would, I wonder if that hurt JOK’s stock in the draft this year? Not everyone. I destroyed him. I said no way you draft a hybrid LB with the 6th overall pick. No value at that level at all. You are such a humble human being, it must be exhausting to be right about everything all the time, you thought slater would be the guy this year so credit is due there for sure. almost every expert agreed that he shouldn’t have been available at #13 so how you believed so fervently he would is kind of weird. I advocated for LT over other picks and darrisaw was certainly worth the #13 pick IMO but going slater was a no brainer, I had both slater and AVT ranked over both sewell and darrisaw in regards to bust potential. I just thought slater and AVT were the closest things to can’t miss for O-line available in this draft with jenkins coming in 3rd in that category. With the O-line situation I just felt the chargers needed a hit on the line and looks like they certainly got one. I thought I was excited to see herbert play in a pro offense last year but now the enthusiasm is off the charts...

I wanted tua lol. But as you all know, I’m an idiot. I loved tua, he’s a great kid and pre injury he certainly might’ve been a favorite despite coming from alanama BUT in tua’s case I just thought his injury was so incredibly catastrophic, I honestly still have reservations about him playing in the NFL. That feeling we all had when alex smith came back, that fear that something awful was about to happen to his reconstructed leg? I have that same feeling every time I see tua play. They had to remove shards of his own pelvic bone from his rectum for pete’s sake! He still has bone splinters traveling around in his insides causing damage. If he has that happen again it could be life threatening especially with all the possibilities of infection and everything else. Who am I to tell tua not to go out and make money to help his family, but honestly, I cringe when I see him on the field, I don’t want the kid to be handicapped for the rest of his life. Right now he can still walk and live normally but can you imagine the arthritis issues he’s going to have by the time he’s my age?! Football aside he can still have a long fruitful life doing something else like coaching.

I had hesitations about him being there, but all of those QB's and talent guys like Chase, Pitts, etc set the table for us to snatch him up.

I know I liked Wirfs in that draft. I think my list of guys that I loved and busted is easily more than twice as long as the list of guys I didn’t like that succeeded. My smallest list is probably the one with the guys I liked that actually succeeded. the draft is kind of like that, even the professionals that do it for a living. those guys hit more and miss less but they all have funny stories about big mistakes they made in their careers.

Yes they did, I still can’t believe carolina and dallas passed on him although I’d heard dallas was in love with parsons, heck, even the giants needed offensive line. It was a bovine feces gauntlet but somehow slater came out on the other side, LOL ...was probably TTs easiest draft decision ever

He stated afterwards that whatever top QB was left last year he was taking. Thank the stars it was Herbert. Dallas defensive was terrible last year. They needed the LB help for sure. I hate comps, but he's been called a Bobby Wagner type.

You were all about Tua......were you not? Canada REALLY lost. They wanted Simmons hybrid LB, instead of Justin Herbert. Yes, I wanted Simmons, regardless of QB available. I do think Arizona has failed Simmons, as opposed to Simmons just being a bust pick. I notice you fail to acknowledge you wanted Tua......over Herbert. It is OK, just admit your mistake, we all make them.

"They actually may go Herbert with the 5th overall" I'm talking like the day before the draft there was some last minute "whoa some insiders say they changed their minds!" and we all wondered, is it true?? Do we really get TUA!!!" Oh. I'm so glad we did not.

Remember, they had a tough team last year, and they added nicely in the draft.

I get bad vibes with waddle, he strikes me as being really really immature, JP I don’t trust because of the medical history, he could cash out and bail or have a fantastic career, IDK. Liam is a guy that could end up being miami’s version of lamp, not able to transition inside and not able to handle speed on outside at the NFL level, or he could become a solid RT for ten years. I can’t explain it but I just have a bad feeling those guys not working out for them out there in miami, throw tua into that mix too. I hope I’m wrong because I don’t want miami and buffalo to let NE start a second dynasty
