He isn’t great, but the young & talented Dolphins team didn’t need a great QB to make the 2020 playoffs. They rushed a young QB coming off of a devastating injury and paid the cost in two big ways: hurting the young QB’s development and missing the 2020 playoffs by 1 game. Not sold on Tua in any way, and in fact I believe Tua will just be a mediocre QB after all is said and done. Lot's of flash, hype, a few great plays, but no Super Bowl and no HOF career. It’s the age old problem, successful college teams don’t always necessarily produce good professional players. There is a very very long list of heisman trophy winning/college champs type players that simply never panned out in the pros. That doesn’t mean that tua won’t be successful, it just means that on a more level playing field his skills will be tested in a way they never were at alabama. The same can be said for anyone coming out of those types of programs. For every joey bosa there will be one or two dwayne haskins types. Projecting players to the NFL is never going to be easy, even if they play for big time football factories.
