Only the falcons (15) and the I think the jaguars (12) signed more UDFAs than the chargers I’ve seen these lists before and it’s always interesting to speculate which player might stick around, seems like the chargers always find one or two guys. My best guess would be the DB has the best shot... I will throw hope towards the Canadian, eh..... Ogbongbemiga was drafted 8th overall in the CFL. He has a home if the Chargers cut him, eh?

I'm not going to say I defended him then, but I'm saying now we need to stop playing musical kickers. Can say the same thing about coaches. But you can’t stop until you are confident you have a truly, enduringly good one.

With kickers its, "I lost this game because of you see ya!" Then they find some shmuck on the waiver wire who is not any better than the shmuck we just released...

I think the opposite is more accurate, they hold on to them a year too long.

No, I didn’t imply that they had a quick hook. He said, “we need to stop playing musical kickers,” and I said, “ Can say the same thing about coaches. But you can’t stop until you are confident you have a truly, enduringly good one.” Musical chairs is a game where everyone playing moves around a group of chairs until the music stops. It’s not a quick hook. It’s just a hook when the music stops. And the last part of my statement suggests my ultimate conclusion, that we want an enduringly good one. Long term stability with a good coach is a great objective, to me. I envy the Steelers, Patriots, and Saints in this regard.

These guys get it and know how to own a team. and then there is Spanos...

These guys get it and know how to own a team. and then there is Spanos... The Saints get it since they hired Payton, the Patriots since they hired Belichick (aka the “right” coach). If you look at their head coaching history prior to hiring the “right” coach, it’s an ugly sight (especially with the Saints who made Chargers history look stable in comparison). The Steelers are a different story as they have had head coaching stability for a half-century, but even Rooney’s history before hiring the first “right” coach (Chuck Noll) was absolutely brutal.

Their team was bad in the old days. Of course back then the Rooney's were into horse racing. That's kind of frowned upon in the NFL now.

This is not a new concept guys, losing clubs fire coaches......even winning clubs fire coaches.
