In the presser, Staley just said that they’re going hunting (cuts and trades) ‘for the 53 guys that will give them the best chance week 1’ (paraphrased). Well, that can only mean one thing, and I’m sure music to everyones ears because most of the team has halfway decent depth, except for the offensive line That came up right after a question from Popper about how Pipkins made the roster…

Neither one performed well, the kick offs became the only difference, we still need a kicker… Kick offs are a red herring. If you can cover kicks, you are often better kicking inside the 5 and forcing a return than giving it to them on the 25 If you can get height on the kicks, that is. 💩 🦡 had issues kicking it high enough for coverage and deep enough to negate an opportunity to return. Vizcaino can do either, and there is a place for kicking it across the Pacific (near the end of a half when only a good return can damage you or when facing a top-level kick returner).

Did u call him shit Badger? LOL. Badgely cost us a game or two so I’m not crying about this and wish Vizio the best but we have not in recent history made good choices at this position and this seems like the same old 💩

Won’t be surprised if he gets signed to the practice squad as insurance - and to keep the pressure on Vizcaino. More likely Badgley will end up being signed by Detroit who cut both of their kickers. I'm sure Anthony Lynn will put in a good word for him

In the recent past, the times that we needed kick coverage the most is usually when it failed.

I won’t care as long as they add another tackle into the mix.

We’ll see if that changes now that the roster has been set at 53 with an emphasis on keeping backups who contribute on special teams (hello gunner/returner Guyton & returner Hill, 👋 WR-only Johnson). If we still can’t, then hoof it into the Pacific Ocean Viz!

I’m going to wait and see what they do with bringing in more players and what moves they make to create room.

How many RB's ?? 3 QB’s to cover the COVID protocol and not get caught in a 2020 Denver-scenario in a season where games will not be delayed or postponed due to COVID infections / exposures (listen to Staley’s presser yesterday). All of the bottom tier WR’s, RB’s, DB’s, and LB’s will be major contributors on special teams. You think that there was a lot of turnover to the overall roster, be sure to make a comparison of last year’s special teams to this year’s. There has been a total overhaul, and in my (and likely other’s) opinion a very necessary overhaul. We will soon find out if it’s a success or a disaster, but something different had to be done after being subjected to the worst-in-the-league-by-a-large-margin special teams that we have suffered through for several seasons. 😠

We don't need to carry 3 QB's, period. One of them would make room for Johnson's return. Sign a Tackle and cut Pipkins too.
