An homage to the long running offensive line thread? Joseph is either still learning new role or has declined some this year. Jones has been MIA and tillery needs to be more consistent. He did play his best game yet against KC because they moved him around more and he responded. Covington I think needs to see reduced snaps and he’ll have more ‘pop’ plays with less work. I think this team misses broughton, his replacement banks is kind of raw and I think playing with a lingering injury from the preseason. It wouldn’t be surprised if the chargers make a small move for a DT in the next couple of weeks. Maybe it’s to sign broughton back off the chiefs practice squad or to trade for someone else. IDK, but all of a sudden DT has become a weakness on the defense. I did not see this coming as I thought the DTs were one of the bright spots of the preseason, goes to show how misleading the preseason games can be. I think DT will be a top priority in free agency or in the 2022 NFL draft.

But in the pass game we had pressure in 40% of Mahomes passes yesterday. That's pretty damn good. When you play an elite pass offense, that's what you want. Held them to 3 points by halftime.

Our dline is the weakest link, other than RT IMHO... But I agree they seemed to have focused on pass D more. Rightfully, esp since we had to contain Kelce...

As I said in another section. I absolutely applaud the win, good hard fought game. Although the chiefs had 33 first downs and over 100 rushing! They moved the ball well for most of the game.....you can't rely on turnovers...right now it looks like you can run on the chargers. Defense needs to tighten up

Defense needs to tighten up The rushing stuff I can’t abide and then guyton dropping touchdowns and then costing the team a 30 yard first down play on 4th down because he’s still processing dropping the touchdown on the previous play. That was brutal but the defense made enough plays to slow down their super stars and give herbert a chance. Defense line will improve once jones comes back healthy

The rule is that when two men go into motion (which is what happened when the WR reset his stance), both players must be set for a full second before the ball is snapped. The motion penalty can't be pinned on Guyton.

Story time: I have never said a word to my son about Guyton. My son says "Who is that guy " " I tell him with NO bias, no bad talk, nothing. My son says: "Yeah, I hate that guy." You can't make this stuff up folks. Big Emperor, little prince I suppose.

He had a strong final quarter to last season and Guyton is just unreliable. It could have cost us yesterday

Guyton did force the key pass interference penalty on 4th and 9 with his route and his size, so there's that. Meanwhile, Tyron Johnson is stuck on 1 reception for 6 yards after three games where his number of offensive snaps has decreased on a weekly basis. His weakness with route running may be catching up to him. www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JohnTy03.htm

The rule is that when two men go into motion (which is what happened when the WR reset his stance), both players must be set for a full second before the ball is snapped. The motion penalty can't be pinned on Guyton. Both allen and guyton were moving at the same time with the play clock ticking down, I thought either coach or herbert should’ve called a time out because the play clock was running out. Then Guyton was about to get set right before the ball was snapped. I think allen was pissed because he had to tell guyton what to do during the pre snap sequence. It looked to me like it was guyton’s fault because either he didn’t understand what play was called or he didn’t show enough urgency to get set before the play clock hit 1 second. So he either didn’t know the play or didn’t know the clock was running out and both of those things are bad. So basically guyton wasn’t ready after running back to the huddle all the way from the endzone (after he dropped the touchdown pass). While it was probably guyton’s fault for being unprepared to run the next play, I blame coach and herbert for not burning a TO, what the hell were they saving them for anyways? They had all three going into the half! As the QB and the coach you need to understand the significance of that situation and call time out. What’s more important, to rush the play with an inexperienced player like guyton and risk a penalty because you like the defensive matchup OR to take the time out make sure everyone is on the same page and get the play right regardless of the look the defense gives you? IMHO, I think you call a TO there. Herbert is right there! He sees allen redirecting guyton to the other side of the formation with like 5-6 seconds on the play clock, CALL A TIME OUT! They had all three of them.

(I don't even know HOW you FORCE an interference. Isn't force what CAUSES interference ? With his route and size ?? He went out in the flat at 3 foot 2 and while he was sitting on his ass with no reception they threw a pity flag at him. I think they wanted to see if he would catch the flag because he ain't catching the football. When he missed the flag too they had to give him something, anything..............."Force the interference " he says. Lawyers. It's automatically getting nominated Freak Post of the Day. When my head stops spinning at the concepts I'll probably name it the winner. )

Tillery deserves some credit for a much better game vs KC. They utilized him better yesterday, he is very athletic and we saw them stunt him a lot more and let him use his agility and speed. He still doesn’t win one on one as much as I’d like but he improved in that department too. Did you guys see when Tranquil beat thuney badly one on one on the sack he shared with bosa, joey might’ve gotten the credit for the sack but tranquil had his arm on mahomes first. If a linebacker can win one on one against their best lineman I’d like to see more production from our tackles too.
