As I said in another section. I absolutely applaud the win, good hard fought game. Although the chiefs had 33 first downs and over 100 rushing! They moved the ball well for most of the game.....you can't rely on turnovers...right now it looks like you can run on the chargers. Defense needs to tighten up KC had 0 rushing TDs, 1 run over 20 yds by Mahomes, 1 reception for over 20 yds by a JAG. We put a ceiling over a very good offense. Make them drive 80 yds with short gainers to score opens up more opportunities for stops and takeaways and we do play for them.
We do need to tackle better. Too many yards allowed after contact. We still had too many penalties. That needs to improve.
Yards allowed in the middle of the field keep the ball away from Herbert. It's a work in progress.

Tillery deserves some credit for a much better game vs KC. They utilized him better yesterday, he is very athletic and we saw them stunt him a lot more and let him use his agility and speed. He still doesn’t win one on one as much as I’d like but he improved in that department too. Did you guys see when Tranquil beat thuney badly one on one on the sack he shared with bosa, joey might’ve gotten the credit for the sack but tranquil had his arm on mahomes first. If a linebacker can win one on one against their best lineman I’d like to see more production from our tackles too. Joseph routinely draws doubles & is still a factor. Getting pressure with Tillery is going to help. Tranquill played more snaps over K9, looked good. Rushing yds allowed between the 20s wasn't good but did not beat us. We need to keep chipping away at it. Points allowed are the biggie. Holding KC at home to 24 was very good.

K9 looks completely lost when he’s on the field, if that continues it wouldn’t surprise me to see tranquil take even more of his snaps. But it’s still early in the season so I hope K9 bounces back once he hets a better grasp of the new defense

The penalty was called on Guyton because he was the man in motion and never reset (he wasn't supposed to reset - he was supposed to remain in motion), but the player who caused the penalty is the WR who shifted his stance when he shouldn't have while Guyton was in motion. The rule is that when two men go into motion (which is what happened when the WR reset his stance), both players must be set for a full second before the ball is snapped. The motion penalty can't be pinned on Guyton. Both allen and guyton were moving at the same time with the play clock ticking down, I thought either coach or herbert should’ve called a time out because the play clock was running out. Then Guyton was about to get set right before the ball was snapped. I think allen was pissed because he had to tell guyton what to do during the pre snap sequence. It looked to me like it was guyton’s fault because either he didn’t understand what play was called or he didn’t show enough urgency to get set before the play clock hit 1 second. So he either didn’t know the play or didn’t know the clock was running out and both of those things are bad.So basically guyton wasn’t ready after running back to the huddle all the way from the endzone (after he dropped the touchdown pass). While it was probably guyton’s fault for being unprepared to run the next play, I blame coach and herbert for not burning a TO, what the hell were they saving them for anyways? They had all three going into the half! As the QB and the coach you need to understand the significance of that situation and call time out. What’s more important, to rush the play with an inexperienced player like guyton and risk a penalty because you like the defensive matchup OR to take the time out make sure everyone is on the same page and get the play right regardless of the look the defense gives you? IMHO, I think you call a TO there. Herbert is right there! He sees allen redirecting guyton to the other side of the formation with like 5-6 seconds on the play clock, CALL A TIME OUT! They had all three of them. That is how I saw it.

Hopefully his instincts and muscle memory align with the scheme this year. I also hope he works on his tackling fundamentals. With Tranquill playing as well as he is (probably a more intellectual player), it won’t be so awful if it takes K9 the season to get into a commanding position and reliable in the scheme.

It cost us a third-rounder to move up, we just spent the second round pick faster. Not sure I would have made the same call. Those picks could gave gone to, say, DL, OL, or RB. I think that more picks generally gives you a better chance to acquire quality talent—provided, however, your scouting was sufficient and accurate.

Guyton did force the key pass interference penalty on 4th and 9 with his route and his size, so there's that. Meanwhile, Tyron Johnson is stuck on 1 reception for 6 yards after three games where his number of offensive snaps has decreased on a weekly basis. His weakness with route running may be catching up to him. www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JohnTy03.htmOh we’re giving credit for a DB mugging a guy on the sidelines? Great job getting mugged? I am judging Ty Johnson by what he did here particularly at the end of last season. John Jefferson isn’t a lousy receiver because he didn’t do diddly in Green Bay.

Murray's size, speed & strength are very good - excellent. Top ILB in his draft, physically. Read & react, getting off blocks ? Not so much. He needs a dedicated coach to work with him on his keys. Get his processing tuned up and his responsibilities downsized. They need to take some time, be patient with him.

K9 will be fine, last year he took awhile to pick up bradley’s defense too and then late in the season he played much better. He’s learning a new system all over again and some guys are just slow learners. He should be playing much better by playoff time the kid’s a warrior, last year he needed surgery on his shoulder but we’d never known it the way he was playing and right now he’s been nursing a high ankle sprain he sustained at fan fest while covering jared cook. He’s not at full speed mentally or physically but once he is, he’s going to be a ton of fun to watch!

Am I incorrect that Allen (or whoever it was that moved) intentionally shifted instead of moved his feet ala MDub on the called back TD against the Cowboys? And due to that intentional double shift, Guyton was supposed to stop the motion where he was going one direction, and then reversed direction that looked to also be intentional? If so, I’ll need to rewatch it. I could have sworn I saw a seemingly unintentional movement of feet, but I could be wrong.

The Jags’ other four “dripping with talent” receivers are second year Laviska Shenault Jr., tenth year Marvin Jones Jr, forth year DJ Clark Jr, and fifth year Jamal Agnew from USD, a murderers row if I have ever seen one. There are injuries, but those are the guys who are on the roster now. Why did Tyron only get 2 offensive snaps on Sunday when he proved to be a reliable deep threat in 2020? Johnson lit it up with big plays in 2020 on a team with two proven NFL starters, and his plays per game have dropped as he has spent more time with a terrible team that has a QB with an arm like Herbie’s coming off a season where he averaged 20 yards / reception. I don’t get it.
