We have the cleanest injury report in the NFL this week and yet you Nancys focus on the one dude who did not practice on Thursday. Nuts. Is focusing on his career nuts too ? It's not about Thursday. The big picture. Expand your horizons. Exactly! Availability is an ability and he’s not exactly top line to begin with so why, why are the chargers burning a roster spot on a glass man?

dallas travels really well, right behind Pittsburgh in the two slot. raiders were in LA. I do NOT see Cleveland travelling well. We LOVE seeing white and blue. Winning will help the cause. But our home schedule is loaded with teams that travel well including NE and Pittsburgh still to come with the Chiefs and Broncos on the schedule as well. It will be interesting on Sunday. Rams have already played so maybe some NFL lookie loo fans in LA will turn out to watch the new rulers of the AFC. Curious to see how those broker tickets go to use on Sunday. Heard a lot about the price of the tickets at the soccer stadium being the barrier for Charger fans. That wasn’t borne out in the first 2 hone games. I will say this, between the two teams that play at Sco-fi, only one has been embarrassed at home so far this season and it wasn’t the chargers.

Looking at the resale pricing for the seven remaining games, ticket prices for my section are at/near the Cowboys game (~$275) for the Steelers & Chiefs games. I expect the Steelers crowd to be somewhat near the Cowboys, but the Chiefs could be a bit different in that NFL fans in the LA area may want to see the game as opposed to all Chiefs fans. We shall see when we get to the game in ten weeks. There is not much current interest in the Browns, Vikings and Giants games. Hopefully there will be a real home field advantage for those games. In between those two groups are the Patriots and Broncos games. There might be significant visiting crowds if both teams are playing well entering the game. Bottom line in my reading is that they started off with two of the toughest opponents to draw a home crowd, and even then there was definitely crowd support during the game. Winning will help, but regardless the “optics” should improve over the last seven home games. I could care less about the optics, from a football standpoint I don’t want herbert covering his ears on offense during home games or the offensive line missing assignments due to inability to communicate properly.

So they put a bunch of guys that're playing on the list to make the chargers complacent?

That may happen all of 2021 in this stadium. The Chargers with 20% of the fans made enough noise where Carr couldn’t communicate and had difficulty hearing. The canopy makes this stadium LOUD!!

Canopies amplifying a 70/30 visiting crowd and fake grass...? At least it was free. -Spani-

Top quotes with Herbo Here's what the QB had to say heading into Week 5 of 2021. On the game plan for Browns' front-seven "I think you have to gameplan for every team and the Browns certainly present a challenge unlike any other, they've got those front-seven, it's unreal. We have to do everything we can to watch game film to have a solid gameplan to have a solid protection plan so that when we go out there on Sunday, we are able to recognize the blitzes, protect it solid and so it's going to require everyone." On the Chargers' run game improving the passing game "I think they've done an incredible job all year and I think as long as you're balanced and have a good attack both in the run game and the pass game on offense, I think you're really tough to stop. I really believe in our offensive linemen upfront and I know that we can run the ball behind those guys. Any time you give the ball to Austin Ekeler, Larry [Rountree] or even Justin Jackson, [Joshua] Kelley, those guys are gonna fight for yards, so they make our offense a lot better." On what makes Myles Garrett such a great pass rusher "I think the combination of size, athleticism, explosiveness, he's able to do everything. He can defend some passes too…he's one of those guys that you look and see him on film, and he makes plays. You have to know where he is at all times so that you're ready for what he does." On how he's developed his instincts in the pocket "I appreciate the kind words from [Joe Lombardi]. I think it's taken a lot of time to figure that out…especially having Joe [Lombardi] and Shane [Day] in our quarterback room, I've learned so much more from them. Talking about that all week and going out and seeing it and repping it and going through it, maybe we don't make that play without those guys. I think a lot of it can be learned in the film room, especially when Shane and Joe are teaching us." On the versatility of the tight ends on the Chargers "The way we play them too, they need to be able run block, pass block, and go out and win on one-on-one matchups and the guys that we have, Stephen Anderson, Jared Cook, Donald Parham, they've done an incredible job so far. I think the way that Jared Cook is able to win routes and beat man-coverage and Parham certainly presents a challenge, how long he is and how he's able to reach above man-coverage and all those zone-coverages…Stephen Anderson, too, in the run game, and he's been an incredible blocker and he's one of those guys that we've really relied on." On center Corey Linsley making pre-snap reads "I think he's one of the smartest to ever do it. The way we do it, he gets up on the ball and we're able to go really quickly. He's able to make those Mike IDs and if we see anything we can overturn it and we can flip it. Corey does an incredible job studying and preparing so were able to get up on the ball go quickly and gives us a lot of tempo." On how running back Joshua Kelley has progressed if Justin Jackson can't play on Sunday (doubtful with groin injury) "Josh Kelley's been a really solid guy. He's really smart, he knows what he's doing, he's very explosive, he's able to make those quick cuts. We really trust him in the pass game, so I know that he's able to get out on routes, catch balls, and he's done a great job so far." www.chargers.com/news/week-5-top-quotes-justin-herbert-2021

I’m up in the Bay Area (woodeye’s neck of the woods) for my son’s very belated Santa Clara University Class of 2020 graduation that was held last night. 45 minutes ago I received a text informing me that my 7:15 AM flight to Orange County Airport was canceled. Wait time on the Southwest Airlines customer service was over 2 hours, so I booked over to San Jose Airport.
No flights available tomorrow morning that would get me back in time for the game, but I was luckily able to book a San Jose - Long Beach flight at 7:25 PM. Panic had set in, but now I’m relaxing a bit.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and I bet a lot of the younger folks that weren’t even alive when the raiders last played in LA and might’ve rooted for the raiders because a relative did, or friends did, or because it was the expected thing to do in your hood. I wonder how many will begin to embrace the chargers now that they are representing LA and going to be a powerhouse. I hope they convert en masse
