We have TT now, not AJ. there is no reach. Can you say DJ Fluker........ I'd say he learned his lesson from drafting Fluker. It's something to think about when you mention Fluker, ROT was our biggest need then and it still is a big need.
I believe our biggest needs are in the trenches. I hope there are DL or OL players on the board @ 28 that are worth the pick.
If Rivers has told TT he'll only play two more seasons, TT could decide to draft one of the QB's - we would all be shocked. If you truly hold to the bpa theory then you must be okay if he drafts a player who plays a position where we are four deep That wouldn't please me but I really doubt he'd go that far. In recent years he's come away from round 1 with a player that fills a need.

I would agree completely....TT learned a very valuable lesson. BPA has been twisted into strictly a 'talent' aspect only. Team fit influences BPA plenty, as does the roster build. It is BPA for our team, and that can mean many different things to each team. Picking 28th is interesting. As there will be players that were touted that fall to you, and there will be players you focused on that you expected to be there still there. Taking a player that was projected to go late 2nd rd, would mean you best knew something that nobody else knew, because 'reach' is all you will be hearing. In other words, it better work out well..... If Rivers has said it is over in two years, QB will get chosen.....or a trade for Rosen might happen.

Starting with using the 28th pick of a draft to replace Rivers with the 5th best college QB.
Take rejected.

DJ was fine until they moved him. Then they put crap around him. Not really! They moved him because he wasn't "fine". TB is right on this one. They didn't move Fluker because he was a bad guard. They moved him because they desperately needed a Tackle. (still a bad choice BTW. I'll never forget watching us take the SIXTH best OLineman with the #11 overall pick). 1 Kansas City Chiefs Eric Fisher OT Central Michigan 2 Jacksonville Jaguars Luke Joeckel OT Texas A&M 3 Miami Dolphins Dion Jordan DE Oregon 4 Philadelphia Eagles Lane Johnson OT Oklahoma 5 Detroit Lions Ezekiel Ansah DE Brigham Young 6 Cleveland Browns Barkevious Mingo OLB LSU 7 Arizona Cardinals Jonathan Cooper OG North Carolina 8 St. Louis Rams Tavon Austin WR West Virginia 9 New York Jets Dee Milliner CB Alabama 10 Tennessee Titans Chance Warmack OG Alabama 11 San Diego Chargers D.J. Nobody said TT would use the 28th pick on a QB.......stop hating, read the post, think....breath.....then respond. I saw ticker yesterday that had the bolts picking the QB from Duke with the 28th pick. Not sure who was making that call. I said WHAT?

If Rivers has given a firm time on retirement, and it is no more than 2 years out, TT will be going all out to find another franchise QB. That search would most certainly start immediately, and most unfortunately would likely go on for years.
