Is it too late to change my vote? Its coaching... Staley is a poser. I’ve been harsh on coaching but this loss could be attributed to player execution just as easily.

It was always going to come back and bite us in the ass.
It’s cute against regular teams. Playoff teams will make you pay.
They said going for it on fourth down cost us 9 points. I saw 12 points. Does anyone have a handle on this ?

My only issue with gameplay was Joshua Kelley being given the ball at the goal line... The kid is not an NFL back. Send him to the goalie in Canada... The other was Cook, he can't catch. Other than that everyone played well considering one of their teammates knocked himself unconscious with unknown severity. Staley did this team no favors by gambling so much and not taking the "easier" points. Its 100% on Staley IMHO.

Better than several others.

I can appreciate anger after a tough loss. But I imagine 2 or 3 of our Ws would be Ls without the aggressive decisions...

Could be true or it could be just wishful thinking hoping our new HC isn't that dumb... Yes being ultra conservative is bad, yes analytics can be good. But this game should be a huge red flag for the future of a Staley led team. I get the hesitation and the love affair with Staley is likely not over for people. I'm over it though, Staley is not ready.

I can appreciate anger after a tough loss. But I imagine 2 or 3 of our Ws would be Ls without the aggressive decisions... The one that mattered is a loss. Hot streak of conversions is dead cold now. 1 of 5 ? Points loss. Gone bye never to return. It comes full circle back to what i already posted. In Houston, you can go for 5 4th downs. Playing a playoff team with that playground bullshit will cost you dearly. Like a home win, division win, conf. win, playoff chances and seeding, winning the division type of costs.

Talent OR coaching??? Good grief, it's clearly both.
On the coaching side, several examples from last night have already been mentioned but my favorite is letting Josh Kelley run the ball near the goal line. The fourth down attempts are absolutely wearing on me, especially when early in the game and a field goal is (almost) certain to get some points on the board. But lately the play calling hasn't burned me up like it did earlier in the season, so let's turn to the other side and review 'talent', or better yet- execution.
If every catchable pass was held on to or not dropped or not bounced off a receiver's hands, chest or face... we would be winners. The opening drive had two end zone 'drops' from Mike Williams (who did NOT have a good enough game!) and Donald Parham (who no one is mentioning because of his injury, and prayers for his recovery!) Later there was a goal line drop by Cook. Keenan Allen not only had a pass bounce off his hands, he also threw a pass that bounced off the ground in front of a wide open Mike Williams that likely would've been a touchdown if it was well executed. The lack of execution by the talent is killing our chances to win.
We squandered away this game and it is a shame because there were some very good positives observed on the coaching and the talent sides. But games are won and, in this case, lost as a team so those accolades are now moot. I'm so frustrated and disappointed today.

We didn't lose because of Mike Williams. Never said we did (we did) ( we really didn't but I want to stir things up). You said everyone else played well and I asked you about 15.something million MW. His game blew. Bottom line.
