I agree the loss was worse, but I will let you in on a little secret. Staley will do the exact same thing against the chiefs in the playoffs. I don't want you to get to upset so I am warning you ahead of time. Also depending on how well the Turds move the ball this weekend I wouldn't be surprised to see the 4th down madness then too. It drives the moderators and goalies crazy on here. My being right all the time. I warned, oh how I warned, that the 4th down crap is going to come back and bite us in the ass. OH HOW CAN THIS BE FREAK !! WE ARE 12 of 15 whatever TRYING IT !!!! YOU ARE A FOOL AND A MORON !! LETS PET AND FONDLE EACH OTHER ON HOW THIS IS GROUNDBREAKING AND EXCITING !!!!!! But no. Oh, no. Ol' Wise Freak had another angle for you all. It ends up being 100% CORRECT too. I don't give you guys free information that you should all be paying for because its popular. I live on an island. I give it to you because I know stuff. I'm a Giver. They beat the Chiefs the first time around employing the same 4th down strategy back in September, and I’d expect them to do the same with hopefully some situational adjustments like at the end of a half. And they won a couple of games earlier in the year that they would have lost if he hadn’t been aggressive. 🤷♂️ And the first one was completed for a TD until the moment Parham knocked himself out for the year. I guess that should have been taken into the calculation. The only one that bothered me was the one before the half where they didn’t gain the benefit of having the Chefs backed up after missing on it. Here, I'll blow your mind: The lost against KC was far worse on multiple levels than the Houston loss. How does that grab ya ? NEVER CHALLENGE MY INTELLECT !!! IT IS HIGHER THAN POLAR BEARS AND GOALIES COMBINED !!!!! The KC game you speak of was the moment where the Chargers approached the Y in the season......losing put them firmly in the 'pretenders' group.

I don't believe you can be win and your in like Sunday Night and be called less than a contender. Every club is a contender...... When the PO's start, there will be the ones you gamblers call the 'favored'..... Chargers will not be one of those, hence it is fair to call them 'pretenders'. Pretenders can go on a luck driven run.......heck we did it last season.

Inconsistent is a fair attribution. Will the Chargers come out focused and kick ass or be sloppy and let the game slip away. The botz getting to the playoffs and winning is not the luck of a pretender; it will be determined by proper preparation & player execution.

I was referring to playoff contenders which has to lead to SB contenders. How many are eliminated from the playoffs ? 12 ?? They are not contenders.

It is application of the term 'pretender'.....in the KC game, both clubs had the opportunity to lay claim to the AFCW crown. KC did so, and as such will be a 'favored' club in the first round of games. Chargers did not, and as such will not be 'favored' in round one of games. Those that go one and done are clearly pretenders..... That said, any club can go on that 'lucky' run.... We did this exact thing last Stanley Cup. Not favored at any point.....and proven to be pretenders in the end.

How do you call ANYONE a pretender until the game is played? Easy, the term is based of off expectations of the outcome yet to be determined. Losing only solidifies the perception held previous to game being played.
