You got it Jim. They drafted Nwosu to take over for Emanuel. No n4eed to draft another player for that position this year. Our only hope is Nwosu grows. He can pass rush, but is weak against the run. I'll pretend Emanuel is average against the run, but can't pass rush. Their currently opposites. PS That was, 20 sacks at Sammy Small School cannot get sacks in the NFL for those of you paying attention.

I looked at everything I could find on Nwosu when he was in college and he sure looked promising. My guess is he will take a giant step forward this season. Young players often seem somewhat lost as a rookie and come to life in year two. I think he could do that. - We can all hope for that!

The "Derwin James'" of the world are rare. It takes an average rookie a year or two to get going. Its a little nerve racking to have to hope for our LB to make the step this year. But that is where we are.

Yes, as of 3/19/2019, neither one is the answer. Will young Nwosu take the next step ? Time will tell I suppose.

Emanuel is certainly a reserve player, Nwosu is looking that way, with TC 2019 the defining moment of time.

Our roster was so good last year that I hate being in that position. I would have hoped we were past that by now. I guess not. Lamp Starter Question mark, you say its a huge question that needs answered. Nwosu too.

TT has improved the talent on this roster, significantly so IMO, but there are still far too many reserve players getting starter minutes. Look at the PON lists being thrown out there in the draft section.....we are not talking 1-3 spots....yet.

Good perspective, and an interesting take. I don't have to agree with something for it to be a good take. "Far too many" is vague, I get the sense the organization feels the big talent covers up the non-stars. I don't like how our great season ended last year, so I am not convinced we have done enough in the offseason. Not convinced at all. I mean, I don't want to sound spoiled. Having a Divisional Round playoff team is so freaking great after the bad years we had, but it makes the Big Show seem that much closer, close enough to taste it.

First of all, the off season is not over. The draft is where TT believes the answers reside, or so I think. Secondly, the supporting cast, or non stars, are what the roster is lacking in too many places currently. An obvious example would be safety. Bolts just need a slightly above average safety to pair up with DJ in order for them to get the most out of the 'star' player in DJ. OG, ROT and DT are places that have reserve players in place as starters, that simply needs to change. For those that feel OT is not an issue, think about how dire the comments would be if the Bolts lost Okung for the year during TC. The roster is getting there, but TT has some work yet....

Off season is far from over. Still the draft, desperate FA’s and dumpster diving in pre season when other teams make their cuts.

Barring a lot of injuries to the LB's we should be pretty decent there. It looks as though Brown and White (sounds funny) will be backups this year. Anytime you can keep last years starters as backup, you have good depth.

The Chargers put a lot of work in scouting Nwosu. Long armed DE who got a surprising number of tipped passes and snagged runners in the open field. He was always a project to start at OTTO. Let's hope they got it right. It's time. White's college tape was impressive. Learning WLB from Davis should help.

Nwosu was a 2nd round pick. Need those to pan out.

True. 2018- played 16 reg season games, 3 starts. 27 tackles, 3 TFLs. 3.5 sacks, 10 QB hits. 1 pass defensed.
He got some experience, looked promising. Needs to take a step up.
