Do I have it right: Sayler was drafted to be a backup guard? I think he'll rotate in frequently. The AFC in general will be hell, we need solid depth and guys that can rotate. I feel like we have that.

Do I have it right: Sayler was drafted to be a backup guard? Sayler has a good shot at starting RT. IMO. It won't be given to him but he started at LT for the Nat'l Champs. He plays all 5 positions well enough. He's not very polished, just helps win.
He might have better technique if we coach him up at one side, one position. Say, right tackle.

With the now loaded guard position who have tackle experience, I have to think that one of them will be giving it a go at right tackle and perhaps competing with Pipkins.

I think that is the likely plan, have all of them run some plays at ROT.....see which has the potential worth investing the coaching time. If one develops enough to claim the reserve spot, maybe he gets more opportunity to take the starting spot. Camp will be interesting, eh

Now just watch Pipkins show up and be the development project that finally gets it, looks like a decent starter at RT. We'll have an embarassment of riches on OL. I can live with that.

Let’s break down the Flexibility Fantasy fanboy’s frozen phrase, shall we. Zion might have been the number 1 Guard in the entire draft. He 100% was drafted to replace the void of Aboushi. Is he flexing to QB ?? Woods is probably the purest free safety I have seen by position in 2 years. Let’s flex him DT. Spiller was the 3rd rated RB in the draft. Slot him at CB ? Otito is a 324 pound DT. Should we flex him to WR. I mean c’mon man. Let’s get real around here. Daydreaming players are what their not is nauseating. Destruction complete.

For the record I meant, rotate as in let the starter rest and not worry about the depth getting Herbert killed.

The discussion was about OL, and the OL players' positional abilities. TT has drafted well in this regard, as these new players appear to have played many of the OL positions.....giving them that positional flexibility previously mentioned. Your exuberance to attack me has made you look a bit off your game, eh

I get this sense that the Charger org is different. The past two years, esp this one feels different. For that I am hopeful.
But I just can't get it out of my head there's a Spanos at the top.
