Mahomes almost got picked off twice by Samuels including a pick 6, and got away with it. No such luck for Herbert. That's the difference in this game. We dropped two game-changing picks. They capitalized on theirs. Big time.

Outcoached and O just isn’t explosive or consistent. Still a second-tier team.

Damn, ball was loose. 0-fer on the 4 second half turnover opportunities.
Get it going in 10 days time.

Defense played lights out, Oline played well considering the injuries... This is on coaching, specifically Lombardi and skill players not executing.

Outcoached and O just isn’t explosive or consistent. Still a second-tier team. Exactly Reid did a fantastic job coaching when Samuel Jr. dropped an INT at midfield & later couldn’t hang onto a 102 yard pick 6, Van Noy dropped a pick 6, and the Chargers failed to secure the loose ball on the onside kick. The Chefs made the play on their 14-point reversal pick 6. The Chefs players made the plays with their opportunities, the Chargers players failed to do so. Onto the Jags in 10 days time that should be sufficient for Herbert’s rib injury. Bolt up!!!

So we have two ol injuries, a rib injury likely to nag 10 all year, an oc that still sucks in the 2nd half, and a loss.
Quite possibly the worst possible outcome tonight.

But don’t blame the D for not being superhuman when the rest of the team fell apart, starting with the bizarre play-calling.

This loss has zero to do with missed "potential" picks and especially labeling them as pick sixes when that is near impossible to predict. A time-out or run play should have been called before Herbert's pick six, the offense looked nowhere near set, ready, or rested from the previous play.

Let me make it clear that I’m not dogging the defensive effort, it was great! But the D and special teams didn’t convert on multiple big play opportunities while the Chefs converted their one big shot. I love Samuel, but the first missed INT was right in his hands at midfield with a 7 point lead with all the momentum in the world, and then the Chefs go in for a game tying TD. Then Samuel couldn’t hang on to the pick 6, a 14 point turnaround. Then the Chefs have a pick 6 for a 14 point turnaround. Then Van Noy barely misses on a pick 6, a 7 point turnaround. Being outcoached was a part of it, but the decisive factor was the Chefs converted on their shots while the Chargers failed on 4 massive opportunities. Onto Jax at SoFi in 10 days. The oline injuries better not be too severe or else struggles will continue on offense.

Guys, I have now had enough time and rum pass since the clock hit all zeros to recognize the reality of the situation.
I ****ed up. I fell asleep last night and shirked my OGDT staring duties. Joe did his best to pick up my slack, but it wasn't enough.
Yo siento mucho.
Recommend 51 day ban of cthommes to reflect on his direct contribution to the unraveling of a promising 2022 season.
Onward.

But this game was lost by the O, Lombardi, and the refs.
