What do we make of San Fran coming off the bye, being at home, with Seattle in first place ? Do they have massive injuries too ? Scared or not scared ? Justin looks right for the first time since his injury against the Chiefs. When healthy, he will always be an x-factor. I'm sure the Niners' chicken littles are freaking out just like ours are. 4-4 with some bad losses. I think it's another close game. The have a good defense and can run the ball. Jimmy G is merely a game manager. Players need to execute at a higher level and we need to remedy the sluggish starts. 24-21 Chargers. We need to get healthy. I love the optimism, SDC! It's a breath of fresh air to an unapologetic homer like me. I agree that Herbert looked much healthier and his health had been the biggest handicap (no pun intended) over the previous several weeks. That means we always have a chance, even against a tough opponent at their home and rested after a bye week. I think Christian McCaffrey will be hard to contain so I see a higher scoring game by necessity. We always seem to move the ball when we're down so I think it'll be another fourth quarter come back, something like 35-31.

Watch the replay of tonight's game at 8:00 left in the 4th.
And with a straight face tell me we don't have a serious coaching problem.
(Isn't our HC supposed to be a defensive genius, by the way?)

We do have a coaching problem, but you don't fire Staley or Lombardi based off this game alone. Coaching did not lose us this game... This is blatantly because of injuries, I normally don't accept the injury excuse but we are seriously undermanned.

Austin Johnson Otito Ogbonnia Christian Covington Joey Bosa JC Jackson Chris Rumph
and Jerry Tillery
Out, gone, and/or a non-factor.
On the bright side, I felt like K9 had a decent game last night. We'll need him to step up this week as well!

The thing about all these injuries is some of them are just bizarre and not (usually) football normal injuries... We're used to seeing knees, concussions, and shoulders... Quads, hammies, and ankles... But bicep injury on the field, pectoral injuries??? WTF is that crap about?
Too many players out for this to be "random" bad luck... I'm not so quick to blame the conditioning staff either. I'm pretty sure every team in the league has the same conditioning program with little variances.

I’ve never seen a guy out 9 weeks with a hamstring. I’m starting to think Keenan doesn’t want to play. Making a business decision

He has the talent, he is just far too inconsistent.

Next year, he has a nice roster bonus at 3.5 million too. That's pretty good business right here for a 31 year old WR next year.
