I suspect the 4th down decision was already made, and is evidenced by the 3rd down play call. I think a healthy 10 calls for a bootleg 3rd down play, but it's been clear over the past few weeks that 10 shall not be hit trying to make a play on his legs. Handcuffs those play calls a bit. |

It counts as a win in the books but Damm , that was so close to losing , Granted they make the 1st down it's victory formation time but to give them a short field instead of 50-60 to get to field goal territory with only 70 secs and no time outs was stupid. We invested a ton in the D so we should have punted and trusted them.

That was the worst decision I've ever seen in my life. Got bailed out. Or maybe... the odds of analytics proved out? I doubt it, not with a 2 point lead. It was a bone head call by a bone head coach... Staley made the decision and Lombardi made the decision to call a pass, unless Herbert had the option? Either way it could have been a disaster... We dodged a bullet...
5 lead changes! Our run game really bailed us out and showed what kind of talent there is on the offense when managed and called properly.
The defense is a hollow shell... The middle of our defense is weak, the secondary is average, and Kalil Mack can be game planned against. No pass rush...
A win is a win, but we can thank Ekeler and Kelley for it, along with the oline.
