I want to find more on the 0.2% favoring per next gen stats. That would indicate the decision condemned as idiotic, was really a coin flip. I can appreciate not wanting to send the defense onto the field again...

Any given sunday... The opponent doesn't matter. I feel like you guys are forgetting about the field position and score. If we were up by 7 or even 4, I would shrug it off. We were bailed out by their kicker... I agree with the unnecessarily reckless analysis.

It was a big risk for sure. But Staley has said that's who we are. He put the ball in the our best players hands and tried to win the game right there.
It worked out but we have been burned before, and his answer was the same.

His philosophy is a big gamble for a team that spent what it did on free agency and is playing under the rookie contract of a superstar QB.

Its a double edged sword, if we punt and they drive the field and kick the game winner. everyone is questioning why he didn't go for it.

Keenan Allen on Staley going for it on 4th down. Keenan taking a big risk posting that for all the public to see.
If he was on the field you know he would want to go for it.
In his presser he would be all "Coach calls the plays we just need to execute better"

I am surprised that wasn’t pass interference on the browns during that 4th down play. The defender was right in the face of the receiver and never turned around. They were beyond 5 yards as well.
I almost think Herbert thought that was going to be called, that’s why he threw it.

I almost think Herbert thought that was going to be called, that’s why he threw it. I think we left some points on the board. and I think Lombardi can do better calling plays. The best way to avoid this is to put more points on the board. Also letting them jump out to a 14 point lead was bad on our defense.
