Panthers release left tackle Matt Kalil after two years
We could use him if he's healthy again.

Also a USC alum. If he’s healthy (big if), there could be mutual interest at a look-see.

Not sure if this is a good idea after reading this:
It's a post-June 1 designation, which creates $7.25 million in cap space. It was a necessary, expected move after Kalil missed 2018 with an unexplained knee issue. The injury washout came on the heels of a truly dreadful 2017 where Kalil's play regressed even further, and he was one of the worst tackles in the league. Kalil's 2017 signing was an abject disaster for ex-GM Dave Gettleman.

That reminds me of a certain OT that AJ gave a big fat contract to. You're right, I'd pass on him now that I know that.

Kalil was a top prospect and highly drafted if I recall. Sounded like a good idea based on name recognition alone, but upon further review he would only be worth a vet minimum salary flier.

Besides being injury plagued, he's too soft to play in the NFL from what I hear.
