Now that Denver and the Raiders are surging, it’s last in the division for the chargers. A team that was picked for the superbowl by some analysts.. This is how I see the rest of the season going if we keep beating bad teams and losing to good teams. And yes the Broncos and Raiders are both still bad teams.
@ Plackers = W, 5-5 Ravens = L, 5-6 @ Pats = W, 6-6 Broncos = W, 7-6 @ Raiders = W, 8-6 Bills = L, 8-7 @broncos = W, 9-7 Chiefs = L, 9-8
If this plays out I don't think we make the playoffs and its a brand new coaching staff. If we Split with the Broncos and lose to the Raiders We could be 7-10 and its burn it down time.
There is no way we beat the Broncos twice. 7-10 seems realistic.

I hope they love it... But, is it competition or referee influence? Great question..... Competition means a healthy league. The referee thing seems unlikely, but.... Each call, or non call, can have influence on the game, no? I would attribute the questionable decisions to incompetence rather than trying to dictate a desired outcome. That being said, it looks to me that some QBs get more roughing calls than others.

The initial comment questioned the existence of intentional bias to create a desired outcome. Hence my reply of "unlikely". Does individual referee bias exist, undoubtedly......and that might be where Tom Brady gets more protected than Herbert....but trust me on this, player are quite aware of this bias.

The NFL is really showing its biases this penultimate week of the season.
A truly awful call cost the Lions a huge win in Dallas (thus favoring a league darling). And just now, a truly awful intentional-grounding call all-but sealed the fate of the Bengals in their tight game against Kansas City (thus favoring another league darling heading into the playoffs).
Im'a spit. And if you've never seen an alpaca spit, well let me tell you ..... it is something.

There's a LOT of diversity in the way OL holding and pass interference is called. Among others probably. Play to play and game to game. How about more consistency? One game you see Slater letting his hand get outside his body = flag. In another we see an OL reaching over the shoulder, grabbing the rusher's facemask= no flag. I could go on. Zebra's suck.

Its my biggest problem with the NFL the last several years... I honestly feel like the officiating crew has too much of a sway on how these games end. Each game seems to be impacted differently based on who the crew is... Consistency is a huge issue IMHO.

The most expensive player is the QB.....and protecting that investment is priority one. There is holding on virtually every play, so take that call away from the refs, let them (OL) hold within 5 yards of LOS......
