I see it slightly different. Let’s look back before forward. Couldn’t run the clock out with a monster lead in playoffs at JAX. Last year way way too much passing because we didn’t have a run game. Herbert on had 20 tds but 7 INTS. All of that adds up to 5-12 record wise. Let’s face reality because I just typed it out for you. Roman and Harbaugh are going to run the ball. Just surrender to it because that is our new world. He wants to make Herbert very efficient. That spells run the ball to set up the pass. Herbert will use a lot of play action passes. We were about 63 percent passing which is way too high. We will be in the 50’s with Harbaugh. His dream is probably around 55 percent. But because we have Herbert look for 56-59 percent. This is best forecast post you will get anywhere on earth. Kneel. Then React !!!!!!! They've already said all of this. It's not a surprise. Yes we need to run the ball better. Even an emperor with no clothes ca. see that. But they'd be idiots to ignore Herbert's arm. They may be, we'll see. But Gus Edwards isn't a bell cow back. He's a 29 year old journey man back by committee guy so they better draft some talent at the RB position and WR position because this is an 0-17 offense right now I'm hoping for MHJ, Odunze, or Bowers and Corum.

LOL! I can't completely agree with either freak or moe. 0-17 is a nightmare than will never happen.
Roman and Harbaugh will run the ball. DUH! But still throw a majority on the season. No shock whatsoever. Some games may be primarily air, others ground depending on the opponent, the situation.
Winning is in our future. Swamijim.

Harbaugh and Roman might commit to run the ball, but lacking the talent on the field will result in poor outcomes. Freak wants a WR with pick 5, and they are not doing that to run the ball. Herbert is the most talented player on the field, he will be the focus.

Make no mistake, our offense will be what Harbaugh wants it to be. It will be up to Roman to execute but the vision will be all Jim. I envision an offense similar to what Marty and Cam Cameron ran a while back. Of course we have no LT. I would be thrilled for a Michael Turner and Darren Sproles type of duo. Mind you, we found Turner in the 5th round (2004) and Sproles in the 4th (2005). Hopefully, we now have a GM that can find that type of talent in the mid rounds. There are still pieces that will be added including one or two more FA's and one or two June 1st cap casualties.

I see this sentiment all the time. From what I have seen, the new leadership has a vision. I don't know what it is but nor should I. The roster building part of the offseason is about 30% complete. But many fans make up their own story in the absence of the team broadcasting their vision and intentions. Sadly, often this fan base picks the most dire outcome in any scenario. We have the highest percentage of Chicken Littles and Debbie Downers in the NFL.

Agreed... 0-17 is some next level debbie downer. Note that I said "right now". I'd like them to add some playmakers Noted. Still disagree with 0-17 projection with the current roster. Had you said 7-10, maybe a wildcard, I would have agreed.
I also would like Hortiz to add playmakers. Matter of fact, I expect it.
The goal is to take a run at the '24 SB and win some Lombardis going forward with Harbaugh and Herbert.

Understood. Just want to focus the kool aid drinkers on the current reality. Obviously I exaggerate to make a point. Does 1-16 make everyone feel better?

If by "kool aid drinker" you mean those of us who believe that the change in GM, HC etc are a huge improvement, feel free to put me on that registry.
There will be changes, obviously in the draft and more FA, UDFA but given today's roster and coaches vs last years, I can't see less than the 5-12 Staley, etc posted.
I believe that we improved at RB, TE, LB, C and are breaking even at CB & DT so far. Coaching, playcalling a HUGE improvement. I'm really getting into this Kool Aid!
I'll miss Keenan and Mike. So will Herbert but we will have new WRs.

Change is a comin All I hear is that 1) Harbaugh came to us because it Herbert and 2) we don't need WRs or pass catching TE's because we're gonna run the ball. Those 2 things don't line up unless you accept that we do need better weapons at WR, TE and RB. I do think like all of us that we need a much better ground game. But I also think we should be a run last team rather than run first. Meaning that in the 4th quarter after we've staked ourselves to a nice lead on a combo of run and pass we can actually play bully ball to put teams away. But that won't be possible without better skill players If the idea is to be a ground and pound team then we're wasting a lot of money on Herbert and would be better served with a rookie that can game manage

Never. We can't start Herbert and Fehoko and think we are winning. They are stacking 8-9 in the box at that point. You have to have that passing threat to keep defenses honest. That's why we are getting MHJ or Nabors. Those guys and Herbert will scare the hell out of defenses. I never realized you guys do not understand run to set up the pass. Its not your fault, LT was our last great one to do it. It's ok. Harbaugh and myself understand it. We understand it all the way. By Sept., you will understand it too. Very well. Very Roman (Emperor). Very hardcore lesson.
