You have to realize playing great defense is a culture in Pittsburgh. It is expected period. The nickname Steel Curtain was started 53 years ago. Our new defense started 2 weeks ago. At home, in their home opener, we have our hands full. MY coach Harbaugh is exactly right. We get to see what we are made of this week. Strap up. Its AFC North smash mouth football. We need to come smashing for 4 quarters and sneak the hell out of town with a win. Blah blah blah......none of that history will be on the field Sunday, so it only matters if the Chargers buy into it. Ignore it.... Yes, recognize the challenge the club in front of you presents, then embrace the value of winning against them in their home opener! If the Chargers can't handle this challenge, they are far from ready to handle the clubs they might face in the PO's. The Chargers last trip to Pittsburgh ( I was there too) we won. I'm just trying to frame the game for you. Going to Pitt is NOT going to Carolina. Play defense. Run the ball. Then let Herbert and QUENTON JOHNSTON !! win the game late for you.

My son and I are 2-0 out East here. One in NY and one in Pittsburgh. They wouldn't dare lose when I grace their game with my presence. So excited for this Sunday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opening line: Pittsburgh favored by 1.5 points and the over/under is a low 36.5. We have Vegas's attention.............................If Herbert is out Pitt will be favored by 51.5 at kickoff. . . . . . . .

Who has the better kicker? Like pretty much everyone, I see this as a low scoring game between two good defenses and run heavy schemes.
Time of possession will be important, but really the key will be TOP while leading! If we can score first, we can play more aggressive defense and wind the clock making it factor against them.
A touchdown would be great, but I think this will be a Kicker's duel and I believe Dicker will get into range more so than Boswell. But Boswell has already made eight field goals in just two games, half of them over 50!
So we need to get an early lead and then preserve it with TOP on offense and three and outs or other stops on defense.

I said the Chargers have the edge, meaning the entirety of the club........but you know that.
