While your statement carries a certain amount of validity, I do not think I would immediately categorize him as not being any help this season. None of us know this kid, so really difficult, and unfair, to predict any growth curve expectation. Let us see him in TC 2019 before we make any determinations. I like the pick, and get the sense that there is some really good scouting/evaluating going on. I called it a 'shrewd' pick....hope it turns out to be an awesome pick. Surprisingly optimistic take from you Disc. All I hear is reach from other Charger fans. I see a fundamental change in the style of OL pick by TT that Pipkins represents, and I really like the approach. I do not see 'reach' in this pick at all.

4 late picks left. Not sure where they will go but if I was going by need only, I would look at CB, LB, TE, and interior OL. Not necessarily in that order.
