Funny - Old man Mebane is still our best DT. That's because he's a perfect fit for the "modern day defense" we heard so much about last off-season, Roo... Next year, we get our OT we've been patiently waiting for...

Grading all 32 first-round picks after Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season - Mark Chichester The Notre Dame product played only 21 snaps in the Chargers’ Week 1 clash against the Colts. Only six of those snaps came in the pass-rush, where he was held pressureless on the afternoon. He has had a better two first games than just about any other rookie first rounder in the past 15 years for the Bolts not named Derwin James. Philip - DNP M Gordon - 130 yard in first two games with a fumble as the feature back. M Williams - DNP Bosa - DNP M Ingram - 1 tackle no sacks From memory, DJ Fluker might have been our best first rounder at this point of their careers other than James. Truly prophetic. So basically you're saying he was as effective as guys who didn't actually play... I'd probably agree with that assessment.

It's a process. Hey, at least he finally got half a sack in the last game. Slowly but sure:

Did I just read Gus implying Tillery was just like James? I suspect Tillery on his best day doesn't bring half of what James brings on his worst day. Not a slam on Tillery, just more a recognition of how special James actually is.

It probably helped that he didn't miss any time during camp. Luckily the book hasn't been written on Tillery yet.

I'm hoping more towards this year than year 3.
