With the signing of Tyrod, I do not think I would have used a pick on a QB.....even if said QB was top of my board. For me, they should have gone OG....... As I tweeted after he was selected, I'm not sure if he'll eventually be Rivers' successor, but as a "dual threat" QB, he'll be able to learn from Rivers and Taylor. I think it makes even more sense with the Taylor signing.
Both vets can compliment his style perfectly with the mentoring they'll provide.
He's not the QB I would've envisioned, or personally would have selected in this draft, but I'm now looking forward to seeing what he'll bring. He's got the leadership stuff down already. So do the Bolts finally lose Jones, lose as in release and change the locks......and do you think the Bolts carry three QB's, or stash Stick on the practice squad ?

Jones will be gone, and there’s a good chance that they lose their 5th round pick after a few months of development if they attempt to “stick” him on the practice squad. It appears that they will carry 3 QB’s on the active roster in 2019.

You don't sign a back up QB to a premium contract and then draft another one in the fifth round unless you intend on carrying three. At the end of the day it's not a big deal given the talent on the back end of the 53.

I hope they cut Jones. It would scare me if they choose to keep him.
I'd think Jones had the goods on Lynn.

Hope he's cool to sit for a while cause this is Pil Rivs ship. but looks like a fun prospect! You're right, it's Rivers ship as long as he wants it to be. But, maybe that's a good thing. He'll have a great mentor and he'll have time to improve his arm strength like Brees did. It's worth a shot. Wouldn't it be great if we went from Rivers to a young guy that's like Brees? The down side of this pick is we'll have to carry three QB's this year, maybe next year too.

From the videos I've seen, he seems to have a "good enough" arm. Love his mental approach to the game, toughness, and mobility. Anxious to see how his game handles the huge jump in competition, but am pretty optimistic that he'll adjust well.

Do you remember the year we drafted Rivers? We carried 5 QBs on our roster -- Brees, Flutie, Rivers, and Cleo Lemon.
Talk about a waste of a roster spot.
I can stomach 3 QBs. Taylor gets nicked up a lot, anyway. But I like that he'll be actively learning from both QBs.

My math skills are a bit rusty, but... My math is a Wonderlic score of 1. Meh. 4 is the same as 5 has a familiar ring to it.

Jones is definitely gone this season. At best, he'll be used as a camp arm. Whatever he had on AL has expired and AL gets to sleep knowing that he gave him every chance to succeed. 2. Why risk stashing Stick on the practice squad and watch him get poached by the Patriots or call me crazy, the Raiders. 3. We all know that Rivers has truly been an Ironman gift to us, but nothing lasts forever. Carry three QB's and start the process of grooming for the future. BTW, love the Tyrod signing vs bringing Geno back.

Not saying it’s an ideal situation now, but PR hasn’t missed a start since he took over the job 13 seasons ago, and that’s including a season with undrafted free agent rookie Mike Harris starting at left tackle. Somehow, I don’t see them having to go to a 4th QB in 2019.
