I'd contend that he saw what was added to the passing game after he retired -- a nice vertical deep threat in Amari Cooper. Why not be the underneath guy when Cooper stretches the field? It would work. But we'll see if Witten has any wheels left. He's 2 years younger than Gates.

I would just say that the Cowboys should make Witten prove he belongs still.....just like the Bolts should with Gates.
If you can earn a roster spot, good for you.....but put me in the doubtful category. Both are old as CT.....

Some just don't know how to stop. Actually, I agree Shruggy. I liked JW. If he has anything left he'll be used enough. Now that the Cowboys have a deep,threat at WR, a TE like Witten will make a lot of third down conversions for them. Besides, I'll be happy to get him out of the MNF booth.
