frozendisc said I am speculating here, but after giving the two coaches permission to interview, the Patriots decided to not give that same permission to the scouting guys as a means to limit the loss of intellectual talent from their system. Is it fair, absolutely....... I agree. Remember if they leave they take all the information with them that they learned while employed by the Patriots. I imagine it's easier to find good candidates for coaching jobs than it is to find good replacement for front office and scouting positions.

Finding talent is always a challenge, but yes, front office or scouting can be more of a challenge than most think. The taking of club specific information cannot be avoided, but in NHL most GM's are respectful to not overly exploit such information. Does information get shared to new club, certainly, but how that knowledge is utilized is usually pretty discreet. It is a small community, having a bad reputation can end a career.

It takes an army to win a war, eh.

It takes an army to win a war, eh. In this unique case, it all points directly to the General of this army: Bill Belichick. You guys STILL don't see how he is the central figure in all things Patriots ? His decisions, his leadership, his philosophy, his unique way, runs all through the organization. Finding more ways to get draft picks is a staple of BB. Talent evaluation ? Seriously ? His is the ultimate decision. Its not just talent, but can you translate your talent into HIS system. The ones that can't are cut and released. SOOOO much winning, and you still doubt ?? Your disbelief fuels his success. It always has. Geniuses laugh together.

Freak's answer would be BB doesn't pick sammy small school players.....or some such drivel. I would say that New England gets more out of players because of their history of winning allows them to set or change the expectations for players. They raise the bar, and players seem to respond to that.

Have you seen the historical Tackles at NE Trent Brown just left to faiders for about 51 million dollars a year. Players say he's the best technique OT in the NFL.
Belichick wouldn't wipe his butt with Sioux Falls.

Baloney. Next you're going to tell me a billionaire professional owner of an NFL team was caught in sex acts at a massage parlor.
I just can't see it.
