MGIII’s contract still counts $5.5 million against the cap. It only goes off the books if they cut him loose (which ain’t happening). I’m thinking that the fact that they aren’t actively seeking help leads to the conclusion that Okung shouldn’t miss too much of the regular season. I should have said use *more cap on mgiii... Sure, I guess. Let's just roll with assuming best case scenario 90-day thing and he's good to rock on Sep 1, without having had any real football conditioning since June 1. Give him a week to prepare to be plunked down in front of Justin Houston on opening day. I'm sure that's all Freak Approved (TM). To me it seems like there would be heaps of value in a stop gap coming in to our camp and preseason. I am getting the distinct impression that you lack confidence in Trent Scott and our 3rd round pick out of Sioux Falls

It won't be too far into TC2019 that we find Pipkins running with the ones......

So much for anything from Cantrell in 2019.

I agree, TT's roster build has been really nice. The big problem is OL.......simply not enough talent in that group.

The Chargers are already without their star running back Melvin Gordon and there’s a chance that they could be missing another one for an undisclosed amount of time depending on the severity of the injury. RB Detrez Newsome suffered a right leg injury after catching a pass out in the flat and being hit by linebacker Kyle Wilson. Newsome left practice, which is never a good sign. There isn’t any other details in regards to Newsome’s injury, but it what be a big blow to the running back room if it is serious. Newsome is currently in contention for a spot on the 53-man roster. The former Western Carolina product was a summer standout in 2018. He led the team in yards from scrimmage in preseason action, posting 150 rushing yards and a pair of scores on 42 carries. He also added nine catches for an additional 66 yards. Newsome also saw some playing time in the regular season against the Chiefs to fill as the No. 3 running back with the absence of Gordon. There, he rushed for 34 yards on six carries and took two catches for 19 yards. If Newsome has to miss some action, Jeremy Cox, Troymaine Pope and Derrick Gore will receive increased snaps. We will update when we hear what the injury is. chargerswire.usatoday.com/2019/07/28/chargers-rb-detrez-newsome-suffered-leg-injury-on-day-4/
