The writing is probably on the wall, sign Trent Williams TT.We cant go into the season with these lame ass tackles ya drafted. Trent Williams is under contract with the Redskins. Do the Chargers trade next year's 1st round pick and let MGIII walk? What would be the return on their 1st rd pick in your trade ? Trent Williams ? I would not make that trade. Why would they 'let MG walk'.....he is under contract currently. They could tag him for several years if MG managed to fulfill his current obligation and they wanted to retain control of that asset, setting up the Bell situation found in Pittsburgh a bit back.

I am not suggesting they do those things. Realistically, that’s what it would take to “sign” Trent Williams. For a team with no cap room available, they would have to release Gordon to get the cap space necessary to sign Williams to the massive deal that he is holding out for.

"a team with no cap room".......such a perfect example of why TT let TW walk into FA, money management. TT simply can't overpay for production, and we are seeing that in the Gordon standoff. Gordon doesn't produce at the level he thinks his money should be at. The best answer to all of these money issues is drafting well every year......then you don't pay them, you replace them.

The Chargers are already without their star running back Melvin Gordon and there’s a chance that they could be missing another one for an undisclosed amount of time depending on the severity of the injury. RB Detrez Newsome suffered a right leg injury after catching a pass out in the flat and being hit by linebacker Kyle Wilson. Newsome left practice, which is never a good sign. There isn’t any other details in regards to Newsome’s injury, but it what be a big blow to the running back room if it is serious. Newsome is currently in contention for a spot on the 53-man roster. The former Western Carolina product was a summer standout in 2018. He led the team in yards from scrimmage in preseason action, posting 150 rushing yards and a pair of scores on 42 carries. He also added nine catches for an additional 66 yards. Newsome also saw some playing time in the regular season against the Chiefs to fill as the No. 3 running back with the absence of Gordon. There, he rushed for 34 yards on six carries and took two catches for 19 yards. If Newsome has to miss some action, Jeremy Cox, Troymaine Pope and Derrick Gore will receive increased snaps. We will update when we hear what the injury is. chargerswire.usatoday.com/2019/07/28/chargers-rb-detrez-newsome-suffered-leg-injury-on-day-4/NOT MY NEWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, what do I have to endure this summer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just said the Chargers offer of 12 million a year is not overpaying. I'm making note of it for future reference. Thanks.

I'm a big fan of Baldy's Breakdowns- he does a great job explaining and getting excited when he reviews clips!

Agreed SDC- no such thing! It was more of a statement about the Cantrell opportunities looking like they are coming to an end with the Bolts.

Nope.......paying Gordon 12 million a season, for several seasons, is a mistake.
