Reminder of how physically taxing and brutal the NFL is on a human body. Reminds me of the very promising 49er Lb’er who retired after absorbing too many concussions. Luck was hurt a lot. We’re lucky PR has been relatively injury free.

I played rugby with a guy who was a reserve TE at Pitt when Marino was there. Lance said that he never saw Marino with a book in his hands in all of the years at school.

If you get a chance look up the Steve Young interview on ESPN this morning. Very poignant. He said that he really couldn’t relate because he never took a beating like Luck did. He also said he could not recall how many times he said/thought that Luck was getting killed in that backfield. To paraphrase, he was too brave for his on good...go down...get rid of the ball.
I feel for the guy.

Given the Chargers' recent "Out of the Gate" history, I will still be very nervous heading into the Colts game with Brissett at QB. The colts can run the ball and have the DROY at LB. well coached team that’s pretty solid all around. We’ll have our hands full on 9/8 |
