os Angeles Chargers Analysis Los Angeles ChargersThe Chargers put up a bulk of their offense in the first half, before struggling the rest of the game. The offensive line showed holes, which was no surprise given the injuries. Philip Rivers was sacked four times, but still had over 300 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns. With no Melvin Gordon and a battered offensive line, it was no surprise to see them go through the air a bit more. That didn’t mean Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson weren’t successful. Jackson had 56 yards on six carries, while Ekeler dominated with 18 total touches. He had over 100 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. It was no surprise to see Keenan Allen peppered with targets, catching eight of his ten for 123 yards and a touchdown.
Heading into this week, this is a tough test against a solid Lions defense. We should expect a similar strategy on offense, that lines up through the air and leans on safer routes to their above average pass-catchers. Ekeler should remain heavily used in terms of 15 -20 touches, with the occasional Justin Jackson mixed in for a change of pace. If Mike Williams is forced to sit out, expect Travis Benjamin and Dontrelle Inman to pick up some of the snaps, but they likely won’t have a massive impact within the offsense.

The Lions do not have the pass D they hoped. the perimeter is up and down in consistency. Murry struggled the first 3 qtrs. but then found his targets with ease in the 4th. 3 straight scoreing drives. PR is way better. The Lions are not strong in the run game either. Offensively, they have a weakness at LT, as Stafford was pressured all game from there. It was the Cardinals that tied them. The cards are not expected to place above the cellar are they.
Any givin Sunday, but this should be a easier win

Of the OL players on roster, other than Okung, what injuries are there?
Rivers sacked four times, that has to be a huge concern.

I was totally dissapointed in our defense. Everyone is talking about the poor run defense but the pass defense wasn't much better. The Colts had receivers running freely through out backfield all game long. Where are those supposed great DB's? Mr. Bradley has a ton of things to correct. The offense looked pretty good but the defense is a problem.

So the post by Freak that started "os Angeles Chargers Analysis" and eventually goes on to imply the OL group was bad due to injuries "The offensive line showed holes, which was no surprise given the injuries." is a crock......

The accurate description would be “the injury” in reference to Okung. Sloppy at best.

The accurate description would be “the injury” in reference to Okung. Sloppy at best. The Bolts went into that game down a single starter, Okung, with the rest the expected starters. While Scott's play could be an issue, his play wasn't the cause of any poor play from Pouncy out to the right. In my view the statement should have read 'The offensive line showed holes, which was no surprise given the lack of starting talent'...... Of course, everyone knows my disappointment in the OL group as a whole.

The offense looked pretty good but the defense is a problem. I think the INDY run game set up the pass pretty well. Fayscon was targeted a lot with plenty of success. I don't recall much else. Run D appears to stll be a weakness. maybe if they removed the "injured" position Perryman would see the field more. I guess for me, I see it as INDY is a pretty good team, and the bolts found a way to win. So instead of concern, I think patience and a few more data points are required to see if there are major issues. I mean what can they do NOW to correct it? You make a few adjustments where weaknesses were exploited, but you are not drafting or trading for players.

He changed some things on the defense last year after a slow start. I hope he can do it again.

But then you go back to the day that Ekeler had.....................Jackson gained yards too...............the run blocking had a good day. Ekeler is making headlines this week. SURE Rivers is gonna get killed, but look how much Tyrod Taylor can run for after that................................................................
