He first got to (and won) a Super Bowl in 2006...is that when I stopped watching the NFL ? you know what I'm saying homie. your hate started when he replaced Harbaugh and festered and grew as Manning's career progressed and winning at denver was the last straw. Just because chopper ordered Papa John's 51 days in a row and slammed the door in the drivers face when he got there does NOT mean he was obsessed with Manning hatred.

He first got to (and won) a Super Bowl in 2006...is that when I stopped watching the NFL ? you know what I'm saying homie. your hate started when he replaced Harbaugh and festered and grew as Manning's career progressed and winning at denver was the last straw. Of course I know what you meant, but it’s not true. There are several reasons why I no longer support the NFL, and Potatohead Manning has very little to do with it. Ironically his absence actually provides a reason for my lack of interest. I’ve explained this a few times (and shockingly you’ve forgot), but this will be the first time on the new message board, so at least now I’ll be able to copy/paste a link to this post: 1). The #1 Reason above all else is that I can’t stand the business side of the NFL, and it’s more apparent now than ever before, that the NFL is a greedy business that just happens to be in the professional sports industry. Team relocations, which I’ve always hated to see, fall into this category but are only the top of the iceberg. I’m not gonna go into too much detail on this one, hopefully you get the idea. The rest of the reasons are in no particular order: 2). I lost passion for the game. The Bolts stopped exciting me close to a decade ago. So much in fact, my last few years of following the NFL, I spent more time being an “anti-Donks fan” than I did being a Bolts fan. My second favorite team (whomever the Donks were playing in any given week) were what kept me interested up until 2015. The one and only reason Potatohead has an affect on me longer being interested is that he’s no longer around to go against. Sure I absolutely would have preferred a different ending for his career (anything different would have been better), but that could never cause me to pull the plug on following a game I actually had an interest in. The Steelers/Bengals game that I touched on above was pretty much the final straw, I finished watching the playoffs that year, but to see an entire playoff landscape be altered by some bush league nonsense like that was the moment I will always point to as when I knew that was my last season following the league. 3). I have better things to do with my Sundays. Time with my kids on the weekends comes above all else, and while sports is a part of what we sometimes do together, football is not one of the sports we have anything to do with. My older daughter just had her first softball practice, and I’m an Assistant Coach. And yes, my sports memorabilia hobby takes up some of my free time as well, sometimes an entire weekend+ of being out of town for a show. About 3 week’s ago I spent the weekend in DC with some buddies who are also collectors. Had a great guys out weekend & met some NFL Legends and added some awesome memorabilia to my collection in the process. Following basketball to the extent I do (watching every Raptors game, post game interview, etc) requires much more time than following the NFL would, but the time/days of the games are usually during the week after my kids are in bed. It’s rare that I ever have to use any prime weekend time to watch a Raptors game. 4). The same old teams always win. What did I really miss the last 3 years, a few more Patriots SB appearances/wins ? How many different teams have represented the AFC in the SB over the past 20 years ? 5). Cheaters always end up getting rewarded in the NFL. There are a number of Super Bowl winners since 1994 that have scandals attached to them. Take a look at the members of the NFL Competition Committee, it’s a complete joke. The only cheater missing is Belichick ! After the cheaters retire, they get honored by going into the HOF (Pat Bowlen being the most recent). Yeah I know the HOF is an independent organization, but it’s nobody other than former NFL people going in there, so they may as well be affiliated with each other. One thing the two organizations definitely have in common: I have no respect for either of them. 6). Stupid rule changes have turned the game into a shell of its former self. I could go on and on about this one forever, and turn the post into a tl;dr on this topic alone. To keep it brief, after taking 3 years off, so much has changed I probably wouldn’t even know how to watch the game anymore. I heard a rumor that the 3 point stance is the next thing to become extinct. Vince Lombardi would be rolling in his grave if he saw today’s game. It’s got to the point where the coaches have tablets on the side lines. Would spygate even be considered cheating in today’s environment ? 7). To me it seems like today’s players are just a bunch of punk kids, and at the point I stopped watching, there were very few I respected or could even tolerate. Ranging from annoying/petty social media antics all the way to women beaters,I have no appeal to these players, and as the years pass there are fewer of them that I even know. In my opinion the talent level wasn’t heading in the right direction either. Nothing compares to the childhood memories when the players are older than you, someone you look up to, and you have no idea that in the background everything is being driven by cutthroat business & Corporate greed. I’ll always have an appreciation for the guys I used to love watching, but those days are far in the past. Khalil Mack is pretty much the only NFL player I give a damn about these days, and only because of where he went to school, and he isn’t a punk like many of today’s players are. I don’t watch his games, but I do check up on his stats and such to see how he’s doing. Darren Sproles I understand is still hanging on as well, so he’s another one I like, and was one of my favorite Chargers ever.

Freak - I’ve had Papa Johns once in my life, and it was last summer on an extended vacation when we wanted a quick/cheap meal.
Aside from a handful of Pizza Huts (which almost always disappear once their 20 year leases/franchise agreements expire), the National pizza/wing franchises are pretty much non-existent around here, as they could never compete with the numerous mom & pops pizza/wing/sub shops in the area.
I’m not if sure Papa Johns has or has ever had a single location in the area, so I probably couldn’t order from them even if I wanted to.
If there was a way to take out my general life frustrations on Nationwide Insurance (without fraud or assault & battery), I would be up for it, but I haven’t figured out a way yet. Let me know if you have any ideas...

Chopper31, way tl!!!!
Truth is, you see what you look for. Greed, punks, cheating is all around in every sport to varying degrees.
Anyway, I’m glad ur spending time with your kids and coaching. That was a great time of life for me.

Marshawn Lynch retires again. linkThat's ok. There's plenty of old running backs that suck the raiders can sign.

A lot of laughter on Twitter over this one: I was SO happy they didn't draft a QB. There is something really wrong with the Gruden/Carr relationship. While I can't nail it down, trust me that its there. It starts with my view that Carr isn't feeling Gruden. Like at all. Mayock tried to get WAY to fancy with their first pick.

Carr hasn't matured a day since he came into the league IMO. Until he starts truly dedicating himself to his career he's about as good as he'll ever be.

I expect a lot of improvement from the raiders but not enough to overtake the Bolts and Chiefs.

They completely changed him in Buffalo. Did a great job there reinventing himself. One month with the raiders and you go back to being a complete idiot again. raider Way.
