Rivers will be a FA at season end, but Bosa still has a year..... If you are a big player this is where you get your extension. Year 4 in the 5 year rookie deal is extension time for stars.
Sorry, you don't get to pull the Gordon stuff on Joey Bosa. Not happening. Made the Pro Bowl and currently has 10.5 sacks. He's coming, and his agent is coming with him. Knock knock. Is this where we park the Armored Truck at ?
I think the Gordon matter was a good business decision by TT and ultimately didn’t matter. But I agree that he will not be able to do that with Bosa. That extension should be done this off season.

I don't want Rivers, see no reason to expect a Mahomes clone. I would like to draft a young QB who enjoys the game & does not get rattled under pressure. We can work with a QB who isn't screwing things up. Put a quality run blocking OL on the field, run the effin' ball and let the kid make the easy plays that a dominant run game opens up. Meanwhile, if the D is hitting on all cylinders and STs are decent, we don't need a wild ass scoring offense to be a playoff contender. We just need an O that plays with some composure, doesn't get themselves in trouble.
Your frustrations are causing you to no think clearly. The belief that all this is on Rivers, so get rid of him and find a new QB, and all will be great......ridiculous.
Fix that crappy OL group and all will be better......not great, better. Rivers needs to be brought back in line, and if he refuses to conform, bye bye.....hello QB hell. Apparently I have not made my thoughts clear. Cutting PR will not make everything great. It just means that the Chargers won't continue to waste any more seasons on a declining QB that never got anywhere in the playoffs at his best. Putting off the search for a new offensive scheme and a QB who fits is a waste of time, money and fan interest. Sure, build OL. Personally I want a beastly LG and a running back who intimidates tacklers and does not fumble. At QB gimme an intelligent young man who gets the coaching and doesn't lose his composure (or the ball). HOF stats, media worship has worn tissue thin with me.

I still haven't picked my side, but I like the QB destruction posts. Well done. Tissue thin gets extra points.

Doesn't change the fact that Bosa is under contract another year, and Rivers is not.

Some of us can still remember Joey sitting out as a rookie with slotted contracts. It got contentious. And it wasn’t really over salary. Just wait

I could see Bosa trying to force his way out of the Chargers. We may be facing a Mack situation

Currently Cincy has the number 1 pick. SOOOO often the teams at the top need a QB. Once again, that is why the position is so important. Unless Bosa can check off four wide receivers and throw nice downfield, it will never happen. Burrows can be done, but oh my would it cost you draft stock. Something crazy. 3 years of our first round picks. Maybe a 1, and 2, and next years 1. Remember this, teams do not want to go back too far. So the trade is often done with a top 6 team in the draft. They only want to fall a little in hopes that a top QB will still be there. That way maybe they still got some Tua, and all of your picks in the deal. You want to see crazy ? Check this out: The Redskins landed Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III with that trade, sending the sixth overall pick and their second-round selection in the 2012 draft and first-rounders in 2013 and 2014 to the Rams

Just wait There are already articles out there that he may hold out in 2020 WITH TWO GAMES LEFT IN THIS SEASON !!!!!! The situation is different than Gordon's, AND Bosa has extra leverage, just as I predicted during the Gordon talks. TT is now scared of a reputation. He wouldn't dare do it again with Bosa. It becomes a pattern and no one will come here, and people want to leave. In fact, I will go so far as to say he HAS to break the bank with Bosa, even if he burns the next 3 guys to do it.

I could see Bosa trying to force his way out of the Chargers. We may be facing a Mack situation I'm sorry, but Bosa ain't no Mack. Don't worry, it is NOT the same situation. One proof I have, you will NEVER get what the raiders got for Mack trading Bosa. And when I say never, I do mean never: The Bears traded two first-round picks, a third-round pick and a sixth round pick to the Oakland Raiders for Mack and 2020 second round and conditional fifth round draft picks. After trading for Mack, the Bears signed him to the richest contract in NFL history for a defensive player

If you know you are going to lose Bosa, meaning Bosa has told TT he will never resign with the Bolts, trading Bosa this off season would make for the most in return.
