This puts the past few years into perspective. From: www.boltsfromtheblue.com/2019/12/30/21043419/will-chargers-play-it-safe-again-offseason"Telesco’s record after 7 seasons is 53-59. For context, if he were to try to reach the record that A.J. Smith had when he was fired following a 7-9 season, Telesco’s Chargers would need to go 14-2 for the next 3 seasons. That’s an indication that what Telesco is doing is not working." We had it good for a bit. If we can stay healthy I think we cant be good again. My thoughts on this vary across a big spectrum. First off, AJ wasn't saddled with McCoy and Lynn as HC's, both of whom are not very good. I seriously doubt TT had much say in the HC hiring. Yea he got to say something, but I don't see it having much if any influence on the decision. Which brings me to my second point, that TT has to deal with ownership involved in the draft process, and we just do not know the extent J Spanos' opinions impact decisions, but you have to believe they do a good bit. Everyone can pick a side, but I believe TT actually has a pretty good sense for roster building, and it is J Spanos that jacks the process far more than we as fans will ever get to know. Injuries are part of the deal, every club deals with them.

Reality is cold......not a simple task to replace the loss of those you mention. If you have ever read my posts, you know I have stated multiple times the causes for this seasons results.....with injuries listed first, poor talent in the OL next, and bad coaching/game planning as last.

Was not digging. My point was with that comment in-particular. By itself, as a general rule, it is true. I read it as simplistic statement applied to the bolts as being out of place. Though after re reading I can see why you posted it.

Seems odd to me that TT would leave the Colts to have less than 100% authority over player selection, HC hires. Dean Spanos made a big deal of TT's selection & turning over team management to him, scouting to John S. I expect Tom T to move on if JS is taking a dump on his authority. But maybe he is happy as a boot licker, who knows? I have my doubts though. If it's your opinion that JS is making a mess of the scouting & college player review process, could be. I totally agree that current ownership has made some really tacky choices overall.

Are we trying to compare TT to AJ saying that TT is better?? They're both terrible and it doesn't matter why, we still have the same product on the field. Its simply TT's judgement Vs. AJ's ego... They both result in a mediocre team. When all the pieces are in place and roughly injury free, the best we can do is a divisional round exit. At least under AJ we made to the AFCCG game 1 year... smh...

I think J Spanos is exerting influence in many areas, and regardless of any belief in his competence or not, it is dysfunctional to the process. Having Ownership in the mud of decision making never works, and we are seeing that in these results.

The Chargers should have been on the phone with John Dorsey yesterday. The rumors are they can be on the phone for Baker Mayfield in a trade right now. If you want him.
Remember this: I need paid for what I am about to teach the Goalie YET AGAIN. Mark my words here. Save the file for reference.
Dorsey drafted Mayfield. Kitchen coached Mayfield. Both guys are gone now. There is no loyalty tied to Mayfield now. Whomever they bring in has that Ace up their sleeve and will want their own QB.
Goalies are welcome.
